Surprised Me, and Deserving of the Spectre Brand
This keyboard caught me by surprise.HP has a lot of different branding names. The "Spectre" brand is intended to be used on the highest quality premium devices where design comes first. So, that should give you an idea of what kind of keyboard this is, one where the asthetic is the highest priority. What you get, is a metal keyboard that is very impressive with its minimal design that looks and feels premium. The top is coated in HP's well known Dark Ash Silver colour (as seen on the Spectre x360) with white letters and symbols on the key caps, and the underside is a wonderful silver color on a metal body. There is a sticker showing the standard set of icons that all electronic gear has. But, as a sticker, you can peel it off, and only have the wonderul new HP logo showing on the underside. This keyboard looks to be in the same kind of design language as the keyboards included in iMacs. Which, is a good thing.Being a wireless keyboard, the two features to know are: the battery type, and how it connects to the computer. For connectivity to your computer, this does NOT use Bluetooth for wireless communication. What you get is a micro-receiver, a very small device that plugs into an USB port that bridges the communication from the computer to the keyboard. Windows detects this device as "HP Premium Lifestyle Wireless Keyboard/Mouse." This means that the keyboard is not going to pair with the Link-5 wireless receivers that are found in other HP mice and keyboards, such as the Wireless Elite v2 Keyboard, which I also have. Yes, no Bluetooth means you must give up an USB port to provide wireless communication. However Bluetooth does have its limitations: needing to put the keyboards to sleep, connectivity issues requiring Bluetooth to be turned off and back on, and taking a few seconds to re-sync the wireless connection when a device is woken up. Again, with this keyboard not using Bluetooth, you can switch it on, and start typing without having to worry about pairing or syncing to your PC.The battery is a Lithium reachargeable, and after using this keyboard for three days, I have not needed to re-charge it. The problem that may arise with charging the battery, is that it uses a Micro USB port. Why is this a problem? Micro USB has two small rectractable hooks on it, similar to a full size Display Port cable. When you push the micro USB cable into the keyboard to charge it, these two hooks are going to scrape against the bottom of the connector in order to retract through force. After repeated use over a long time, eventually, you are going to have two small scratches on your charging port from the friction of rectracting these two hooks. A better solution would have been to use a USB type C connector ( the oval shape one that can plug in upside-down ). For modern day rechargable devices, I champion anything that uses USB 2.0 from a Type A connector to a Type C. (Computer USB to the oval shape connector)I have not been able to find out what kind of switches are in this keyboard. If I had to guess, it would say the keyboard has scissor style switches, where there is a single fulcrum point responsible for the movement of the keys when pressed and released. This also sounds and feels like a membrane keyboard as well. Where a thin membrane layer with pressure pads is used to actuate the switches underneath when pressed. The travel feels good, and the sound of the keys being pressed is quite satisfying especially when hitting the spacebar. The keyboard will not make any loud obnoxious clicks like MX Cherry Blue switches, it remains quiet and satisfying. This keyboard feels excellent, and I think it does deserve the "Spectre" branding on it. I love the simplistic design, the colours, the removable electronic label, how the keyboard feels when typing, the sound of the keyboard when typing, and that it actually has a full number pad, there is A LOT to like about this device. The only thing that I think could be improved, is to no longer use Micro USB to charge the keyboard. Micro USB is on its way out as a connector, and USB-C would fix all the problems that Micro USB has: two hinges that will cause scratches, and that it only will plug into the keyboard one way. However, that is a personal nit-pick. I would still recommend for you to buy this keyboard if you are considering how it would look on your workspace.

Nice, solid, compact, but....
I looked around quite a bit for a keyboard similar to my Mac keyboard I use at work. This premium keyboard fits the bill in many respects. Typing feel is pretty solid, response is great, wake-from-sleep works fine. Compact layout takes a little getting used to as I'm coming from a full-size (HP) multimedia keyboard. But the reason I'm returning this is that I can't see a thing on this keyboard unless I have the desk lamp glaring down on it. The lettering contrast is subdued and stylish, but not very functional. Compare to my old HP keyboard where at least I can see the keys from the glare of the monitor. This really needs high contract lettering option or a backlight.

low profile and durable with minor issues
For the most part this is exactly what i was looking for but one small problem it has is the ctrl button on the right side doesn't work. This would be a small issue if it weren't for the fact that i use that button for a lot for short cuts in Photoshop. Another problem that pops up once in a while is it has some kind of lag and if i press a key during that lag it will type the character on that key a bunch of times as if i'm holding the key down. At first i chalked it up to interference but the dongle is two feet from the keyboard with only a wood desk in the way. If those two issues weren't present this keyboard would be everything i wanted it would be.

Key Chattering & Lagging
I love the aesthetic. I love the build. But I don't love the Key Chattering and Lagging...otherwise, known as delayed key strokes, missed typing keys and keypresses registering multiple times. I have tried changing the cord and do not run it wirelessly very often, but get the same disappointing result. Perhaps I received a lemon but I find it hard to believe this is not happening to others.

Good Looks/Quality; A Tad Small
It is a tad small in my opinion. Actually, it seems to be the exact size of the Spectre keyboard. It is very good quality and has a nice look, but if I want a wireless keyboard then I want a standard size, otherwise I may as well just use the laptop's keyboard.

Smaller Footprint, Excellent Quality & Typing Feel
Though I've tried mechanical keyboards time and time again, bottom line: I just move faster and more efficiently on a slim (laptop style) keyboard. I've been looking for something high quality with wireless capability and came across this product. I bought it through Amazon and discovered an amazing product. This is easily one of my favorite slim keyboards I've ever used.Though slightly smaller due to the numpad being pushed over to the main keyboard, I find the typing action very satisfying. The keys are solid, well designed, and have a hint of texture to make the typing experience seamless. There is a slight thunk (instead of click) noise upon actuation but, for me, it makes the typing experience all the more enjoyable. Haven't owned the product long enough to talk about battery life or longevity but thus far, I'm extremely happy with this purchase. The only negative I will highlight (because it could be important to some) is the lack of back-lighting on the keys. If that is important to you, I suggest you go a different direction. Final word: if you're looking for a wireless slim keyboard, though the price is higher than some, you're paying for quality and design. For me, worth it.

Great Slim Keyboard
I was on the market for a slim keyboard since one of the keys of my keyboard is starting to give me troubles. I really wanted one where key travel is fast and relatively short but without a numpad. I wasn't really interested in the wireless capability. This keyboard was one of the few shorter keyboard that weren't cheap and I have had good luck with HP keyboards in the past. It is perfect. It is a full size keyboard about the size of a 15 laptop keyboard. It makes the transition from laptop to keyboard pretty seamless. The shorter size allows you to fit more on your desk and have your mouse closer. It integrates in a numpad, but I wasn't really looking for that so it doesn't matter. All in all great feel and it looks sharp.
