Lightweight and Powerful
I've had the HX99G for about a week or so now. In that time I have fully reconfigured the system a couple times and ran a few tests in the process. These are my findings. What I like:I can not emphasize enough how fast this thing is. I was able to run BG3 and Total War Warhammer 2 at max settings @1080P. Blender runs great as well. The quality of materials is also readily apparent. This thing is covered in carbon fiber, the cooling solution is both quiet as a mouse and very effective. The minimalist design includes everything that matters while trimming off every gram of fat. There is a ton of I.O. allowing you to connect more pariphary devices than you could possibly need. It is very easy to access the RAM & SSDWhat I dislike:The BIOS feels like an afterthought. A UEFI would have been great. The software surrounding this device does the trick but doesn't stand up to the expectations set by the hardware. The drivers are not .exe for the most part. There is a WAN driver on Minisforim's website that is an .exe It's in Chinese but you don't have to read it to hit next.🤷🏼 (I realize this is probably more convenient for Linux users but still. Once you have internet, the AMD Adrenaline tool can get all your drivers in order.) Last thing, I would have liked a micro SD card reader and a Kensington Lock.Final thoughts, while the BIOS is mediocre and the driver support is adequate, these things are vastly overshadowed by the excellent build quality, thoughtful design and the powerful yet efficient hardware.

Quiet and works well with Windows 11...
I bought this to replace a full size tower with 12+ fans whose bearings were showing their age and thus was loud. This mini-PC is quiet, provides enough RAM for daily work without issue, runs Windows 11 with a TPM and BitLocker. The SSD works well, and accepts TRIM commands. Windows 11 activates without issue by checking the BIOS ID.Gaming-wise, it can do BG3, although not at the best settings. For older PC games, it is more than good enough.Overall, a great upgrade for the price, and it freed up a lot of physical space that was once used by the gaming rig tower. I probably will be buying a couple of these for Proxmox servers eventually.

A Power Packed Mini PC: Performer or Pretender?
Pros:- High-End GPU: Boasts one of the market's best discrete GPUs, setting it apart from other mini PC options.- Considered Design: The user-focused case design demonstrates thoughtful engineering.- Compact and Accessible: Its small size does not compromise accessibility, making maintenance or upgrades straightforward.- Understated Look: The all-matte-black design, devoid of flashy RGBs or 'gamer' aesthetics, gives it a sleek, professional appeal.Cons:- M.2 Network Card Compatibility: Despite extensive troubleshooting, the PC failed to recognize my replaced M.2 network card.- Coil Whine Issue: Notable coil whining in my unit is a potential concern for noise-sensitive users.- Below-Par SSD Speeds: The NVMe4.0 SSD's read/write speeds, clocking in at just 3,500 mb/s, fell short of expectations (6,000-7,000 mb/s).- Very Slow Boot-Up: Despite adjustments to settings for faster load times, the PC's startup speed was disappointingly sluggish.- Non-Adjustable Blue Light: The lack of an off-switch for the power button's bright blue light could be bothersome.Games:- I don't want to go too indepth but Diablo4 (beta) was played on ultra/high settings while Cyberpunk 2077 was played on medium settings for the best smooth experience.Conclusion:- This Mini PC Gamer is essentially a full-featured gaming PC condensed into a minimalist, compact case. With no need to worry about laptop-specific issues like battery life or screen quality, it's a solid choice for dedicated gamers. The replaceable hard drive and M.2 slots add to its appeal. However, given the unit's inability to recognize swapped M.2 components and a few other drawbacks, it might not meet everyone's expectations. While it has some impressive features, the downsides could be deal-breakers for certain buyers like myself.

Excellent Mini PC. Easy to set up and operate. Great performance. Everything just works!
This unit is my first mini PC and I bought it for use as an office machine and minor video editing. I did not purchase it as a gaming PC, however I understand that it can run most games which are not super graphic intensive. However I am running Cities Skylines through Steam and it is working very well.Set up was super easy and everything works flawlessly. The unit is super quiet, with just a small momentary fan noise upon boot-up, but after that, it is silent. The Bluetooth and Wi-Fi modules work perfectly and connect without a problem. My unit came with a 512GB SSD primary drive and 16GB of RAM. I added a secondary 2TB 2.5" HDD and it works perfectly. Please note that some users have tried to add an SSD instead of an HDD as a secondary drive and that the computer does have issues recognising some SSDs by certain manufacturers (Samsung), so please do your research if you want to use an SSD instead of an HDD as a secondary drive.Power and bootup is lightning fast and it comes with Windows 11 pre-installed. You can also put Linux on this unit should you choose and you can access the BIOS by pressing the "del" key on bootup to access the BIOS settings to install and configure. This is a great little unit at a really good price. Recommended to anyone who is after a great small form factor PC for their home or office.

The Neptune HX99 mini pc is a shockingly powerful and stable
I purchased the Miniforum Neptune Series HX99G Mini PC back in March 27 of 2023 , I can say after some time putting it through its paces that its shocked me .I wont say its perfect their were some hiccups but minor , but its done everything I wanted with out issue its , its very silent and stable pc if your looking to game .I can say without a doubt this mini pc is spectacular , out side of the minor glitches that I haven't come across since then most likely it was do to software issue that has since been corrected by me .I just enjoy the Neptune HX99G so much and forget its a mini pc because it doesnt act like one .

Very powerful and quiet little machine!
This little PC is truly a powerhouse, exceeded all of my expectations. Unless you need a top tier PC for some very heavy gaming or video work, this thing will perform incredibly well in all other cases. Fortnite I could get 140FPS steady at low setting and 4k screen resolution, and if I bumped it down to 1440p could increase graphics settings and still get over 140FPS. Even when it was being pushed to the max, it was relatively quiet. And in all other instances, this thing is whisper quiet. The small form factor is really incredible, I don't know how they pulled this off so well. Even though it's a laptop GPU, because they did such a great job with thermals and are able to give the GPU full wattage, you will be surprised just how exceptionally well it performs.Lots of ports too, audio, usb-c, usb-a, hdmi, and 2.5gbit ethernet. The ports on the front are exactly what I needed too, very convenient when I have it right on my desk to plug things in quickly. As long as you're not wanting top tier graphics performance, I fully recommend this for anyone who wants a great PC in a small form factor that doesn't take up a huge amount of room. I can't imagine why i would want to have a massive PC box anymore, this is definitely the future.

I got a DUD -- Bad RAM -- Awaiting Replacement, will Re-Review Post
I was very excited to get this computer. However it was clear something was wrong when it would randomly restart every 5mins to 4hours, however it would always eventually restart or freeze. While it DID work, it was fantastic, FAST and a performative machine.Originally I thought the problem was everything from the Chrome Browser, to Malware, to Bad Software updates, and spent 80+ hours trying to fix the problem, making ZERO headway. Rolling forward and back various updates and graphics drivers. Running all kinds of virus/Malware tests, following 'do this guides to fix win 11' ... eventually ... read online about doing a memory test, which can cause this type of behaviour. So I ran MemTest .. and to my (sort of) Shock.. Saw immediately that was the problem. The test itself would prematurely brick the computer. With a heavy heart I've begun the return process, and getting a replacement. I will update this Review pending the result of the new replacement arrival.** While the computer DID work --> It was fantastically fast! I Loved how fast and perfect it was, And I tested it with simultaneously running { 40+ Chrome tabs open, 4x youtube videos running, A Steam Game running, and world of warcraft running } All at the same time, and having been able to switch between multiple desktops at once. I'll never need to do any of that task load, but It can demonstrate fantastic power/per/Dollar as many reviewers of this device from last year claimed it could. -- I hope my replacement unit is fine.
