The cover that came with my octagon sandbox was garbage. The size of this is perfect! It covers the box completely. It's thick so it doesn't rip at the corners. It has reflective handles that you can see at night. This is definitely worth it's value! I'm glad I bought it as it does a great job of keeping leaves and the local wild life of the box. It also survives rain storms!

I built a sandbox for my kids about 2 years ago. I cleared and leveled a section of my yard, built a rectangular enclosure using 2x6s, and filled it with sand. It was great... for a while.Eventually, the box became a favorite place for animals to bury their stinky "treasures." We also started getting unwanted plants growing up and out of the box. All of my hard work and money had resulted in a weed-filled oversized litter box for feral cats and god knows what else.I decided to tear that thing down and redesign a new one using all of the knowledge I had gained from my previous failure. This cover was actually the first step in my project. I didn't buy a cover to fit my sandbox, I built a sandbox to fit my cover.Right now you might be thinking, "Well, how do you like the cover? Is it thick and sturdy?" And my answer would be, "nope, not really." It's not bad. I saw the words "Oxford Cloth" and assumed it would be a thicker, canvas-like material, but it's not. Think windbreaker, not jeans.Unfulfilled expectations aside, it has actually been a remarkably effective cover so far. It is very similar to a car cover. It's waterproof, lightproof, and has a drawstring to help draw it tight. It should deter animals and prevent weeds, which are the two main reasons I wanted a cover. Fair warning... you should make an effort to find a more effective way to secure it in place if you live in an area that experiences high winds. I know that if this thing catches a gust just right, it will end up halfway across the Pacific before I even realize it's gone, so I weigh it down with a couple of cinder blocks.I'm not sure how long this thing will last out in the elements, especially if some wild animal decides to rip into it, but it certainly beats scooping cat poop out of my kids' play area. 4 out of 5 stars.

Nice quality

I put this cover over the cover that came with my sandbox, and it still wasn’t waterproof in a heavy rain. The material isn’t very thick and it is super hard to tighten the string. Neither my husband nor I could get the string to pull tight all the way around. It looks nice but we are very disappointed.

This sandbox cover is the best, most durable cover I’ve ever bought. The material is sturdy and is super easy to cover the sandbox.

Doesn't stay tight on sand box and fills up with water a d hard to remove water after it rains. Thought it would be more heavy duty for the price.

It tightens from one side. One day the wind was super strong that it left my sand box partially open but the thing didn’t fly away.

We bought the Amazon cedar sided sandbox which is in a unique shape: an octagon. The Yexcend Octagon Sandbox Cover fits perfectly and solves the biggest problem of outdoor sandpits: leaves, debris, rain, and cats.I would not have purchased the sandbox at all if not for this cover! We have neighbor cats that roam, and everything is their litter box so for sure the sand would be. Also, this cover is totally waterproof (I tested) and that's the other thing... keeping the sand dry for play. And let's not forget falling leaves, seedlings, flowers, etc. that the cover keeps out. Oh, and bird poop.The bungee cord does not cinch up except for a few inches near it. The cover is too big for it to work like that. It would have needed a bigger pocket and a different cord. But I'm a MacGyver and will troubleshoot it if wind is a problem. We have it in the shade so hoping the cover will last.
