More than happy
I was really surprised when these (12” xcut and 14” Rip cut) saws arrived. I purchased these expecting good saws, but ones I’d keep in a spare tool kit I keep offsite, that I don’t want keep really good tools in. I did do a quick sharpening, literally one pass per tooth. Cut well. Track true. Very very good steel. The handles, I don’t know what a previous reviewer meant by “stamped”? They’re well made. Certainly comparable to to Disston keystones of the 20’s and 30’s or the later postwar disston handles. Dark (faux rosewood type) stained beech handles. Well fit and secured. All in all. More than expected. A pretty good product, considering they have little to no competition in this price range. They could get away with putting less into them, and they’d still sell. So I appreciate how much thought and effort they put into these.

A little work turns this into a high dollar saw...
I bought this saw looking for a mid range saw that might be comparable to a saw that costs 2-3 times as much. When the saw came, I put it to use in some pine and walnut. It cut decent enough, but you can tell the saw was mechanically sharpened. Everything else about the saw was solid, it just didn’t have the polish of a more expensive saw.I ended up doing a quick sharpening pass of the teeth, which made an amazing night and day difference cutting both hard and soft woods. I also did a quick sanding and buffing of the brass saw back, which made it smooth and quite shiny. Lastly I made a new handle to replace the uncomfortable stamped “handle” that came with the saw.Bottom line, if you want a 200-300 dollar saw but don’t have the budget, you can put some time and simple work/maintenance into this saw and easily have a comparable tool.

Definitely worth the cash in my opinion.
I had to sharpen and adjust the set a little but it is now my best joinery saw.

A very nice saw
This saw is comfortable and well made. The balance and weight, coupled with a well designed handle, make it enjoyable to use. It cuts well and required no touch-up out of the box.

Very good quality.
This saw was a nice surprise. Cut great right out of the box, did not need to sharpen it. I only stripped the heavy wax coating off the saw plate put on by the manufacturer to protect the plate in shipping. I used denatured alcohol and it came right off. The brass back is heavy weight and helps the saw down through the work almost effortlessly.
