I purchased this appliance about 3 weeks ago and I couldn't be happier with the product. It does occasionally not read a disc, but that's very rare and easily fixed. This can be done by turning off the player for a few seconds.The volume is more than adequate and is clear. The display is big enough to allow for good definition and clarity. I did read on some reviews of other portable dvd players that the sound of the motor can be noticeable. This is definitely not true for this item. I do not notice the motor when watching a dvd.This is, in summary, a very good dvd player for it's price range. It's easy to use and I would even say that it's almost intuitive to use. I'm very happy with this product

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from this portable DVD player. I was hoping this would be suitable to use for kids in the back of the car for longer journeys and more useable for films than phone screens but the whole unit is a bit too big for that purpose unless you could fashion a decent way of holding this off a car headrest.The swivel screen works well, so you can use it flat like a tablet, upright like a laptop or folded back up like a yoga tablet. If you get the screen square on the picture is OK. Obviously it's DVD quality and so the resolution is not great and even worse although the screen is 14" when playing a DVD it only really uses half of the surface area of the screen as it ends up with big black bands above and below the streamed picture.It doesn't support blu-rays either which is a real shame.I had problems with the first two discs I tried to play with a 'no disc' message. The manual says this means the disc isn't sealed properly/flatly but it was both times. However, after a wait of two minutes the next film did boot to the film menu and then the disc after started up pretty much straight away.So playback is a little hit and miss. The manual says to either re-seat the disc flatly or turn it off and back on!The sound is OK and certainly gets loud enough and when reproduced through a connected soundbar (connected by aux wire) it sounds decent for sure.All in all it feels quite bulky and plastic and cheap but it does work OK. It certainly doesn't have any wow factor and I'm not sure I'd buy one of these given that a portable laptop would have better build quality and a far wider range of supported discs and resolutions and in all likelihood a better quality screen. This unit does however have a rotatable screen which could have it's place depending on what you want it for exactly.Battery life of around 4 hours is OK and it comes with a power cable for home mains and also another for 12V DC in the car.Overall it's 3 stars from me. It's currently around £80 and I think for that price a second hand portable laptop with a disc drive is a better option (or a tablet and streamed films instead).

I’m probably expecting too much from this portable DVD player, as I normally watch films on 4K LED or OLED screens and when available, at 4K rather than DVD quality. So with a screen resolution of (instructions quote maximum AVI resolution of 720*576) 720 the picture seems poor and rather washed out although you can control the brightness. I tested playing a DVD and the player gave me about three and a half hours of play, but it can be used plugged into the mains or car socket (Adapters/transformers provided) The sound also sounds rather tinny, but you can plug in headphones or use the AV out Jack (a basic lead is provided).The player is bigger than I imagined and quite thick, so it resembles one of the older style laptops. Because of the screen size and resolution, you can see the pixels making up the image, so I would advise watching from a distance. The build quality is poor, basically hard plastic with clunky buttons, although the inclusion of the remote improves things (rubber buttons) and is quite nice. There are quite a few sockets on one side, but unfortunately no HDMI out/in. Included in the sockets are 2 USB and one SD card ports, I couldn’t get any of these to work, despite trying different cards fobs devices. There is a User manual included but its not much good as it doesn’t show you how to use these sockets and what the specifications are but rather just what the port or button is (For example one USB is labelled Game, what’s that meant to mean? I imagine maybe you can link your potable gaming device to it to display, but all I was able to use it for was as a charging point) . I can only imagine that the video and photos I was try to play are at too high a definition to be read.

Over the last month, I've had some long road journeys to do in Europe. My wife has been able to sit in the back of the car and use this to watch some of her videos without having to use my laptop and a plug in CD player unit. The quality of the picture and sound has been fine. The unit allows the use of headphones and also comes with a 12v car charger plug (and mains charger plug). The unit will play a couple of movies on a good charge. The unit is portable and lightweight. Certainly worth considering if you're travelling and streaming isn't an option or available.

This portable DVD player has been a fantastic addition for long trips. The large swivel screen is a highlight, making it easy for everyone to watch comfortably. The battery life is decent, lasting long enough for a couple of movies. Charging options are convenient with both AC and car chargers. The speakers are adequate, though an external speaker might be better for louder environments. Overall, a solid device for travel entertainment.

la qualité d'image est bonne, mais sorti de là... reçu aujourd'hui, j'ai déjà un dvd qui bug, il s'arrête quand je veux accéder au menu, obligée de le voir en vo (heureusement sans sous titre). le pire, c'est le son, même à fond il est faible, un peu sourd, ça gâche le plaisir de voir un film que j'aime en étant dans ma chambre... très cher par rapport à sa qualité.NOTE: suite à cette critique, le vendeur m'a aimablement proposé un remboursement, sans contrepartie. je les en remercie, ça faisait une grosse somme pour moi et j'apprécie l'attention.
