Penguin Pottery - Mid Fire Specialty Series - Sample Pack

So far I’ve tried thalo blue, ethereal, dreamscape and the clear. All have been incredible and stable. The clear is the best I’ve ever tried and much better than the option at the community studio I go to. I am brand new to pottery and I wanted to try fancy glazes without spending a ton of money and these are absolutely worth it. Also the wax resist from penguin pottery is by far the best option I’ve tried.

Wax arrived chunky, and when heated for 3seconds it exploded and I lost most of my product. None of the glazes turned out as advertised. When I contacted the company I confirmed that I fired them to the same cone as their marketing images. Team was nice and told me to return them but they only accept Purolator which is 1hr 45mins from where I live. So I didn’t return them because of the hassle. A couple colours looked okay when I added Amaco honey flux underneath.

I’ve gotten a couple of the specialty sets from penguin to test. They are VERY THICK, and as a novice, I wasn’t sure if I should try to thin them or not. I left them as is and will post photos of how my combos came out. This mug is chin red upper and thalassophile blue on the lower

Took a bit to figure out but fun colours to play with. Not sure I will purchases these glazes again.

Delivery and packaging was great but I don’t find the colours at all what they look like in the bottles.
