These shoes are incredibly comfortable, lightweight, and breathable. I can actually feel the air moving in and out of the shoes as I walk, which really helps reduce that “hot feet” feeling during long days in warm weather. I also LOVE the wide toe box! My toes finally have room to spread naturally instead of feeling cramped and compressed — and honestly, toes were not meant to be squeezed together all day. The material feels great, and I’ve been pleasantly surprised by how fresh the shoes stay even after wearing them all day in the heat. In fact, I actually checked for odor after a full day of work, and there really wasn’t any noticeable bad smell, which is impressive! Another thing I appreciate is that they are lightweight while still feeling durable. I’ve walked through dirt, sand, and even gotten them slightly wet at times. Impressed with the quality of the material - they dried very quickly after dabbing them off, which was another nice surprise. Overall, my experience with these shoes has been excellent so far, and I’m very happy with them. Review: Such amazing shoes for such a humble price! Severe plantar fasciitis person here. - I suffer from extreme pain from plantar fasciitis. Bought all the "official plantar fasciitis shoes" that cost $150 on up. They all sit on my rack. Altras were the only ones that worked but that cost $159. Saw Whitin shoes, zero drop and the PRICE. Could such a low priced shoe really work?? Tried it and I'm floored by its quality, simplicity and comfort. It doesn't have any support insole built up like the main players but it surprisingly did not matter. It's lightweight, beautiful elegant design and pure comfort even for my aching feet at ONLY $50. Most mornings I can't even walk without limping in pain. When I put these on, it distributes my weight properly and lines my feet up and somehow that eases away the pain. Well ventilated, my feet feel dry and I can wear it all day. They are so comfy is sometimes forget to change into my outdoor Altras when I go for walks. For this price, I am getting more and buying some for my elderly mom who suffers from foot pain. This glowing review is not solicited from anyone. Just wanted to show how much this product helped my pain. No need to drop hundreds on shoes when this one does way better in every way. Highly recommend. Also, the slip in back edge is very handy.

"Wide toe box" should not be synonymous with "wide shoe size"
One thing I wish Whiten and other shoe brands that make "wide toe box" shoes would get clear on: "wide toe boxes" are not just of benefit to people with "wide feet" who wear "wide shoe sizes". Those of us with medium/regular or other foot widths need shoes with wider toe boxes, too, but WITHOUT HAVING TO BUY SHOES IN "WIDE SHOE SIZES". HELLO!!! That said, I LOVE shoes with wide toe boxes. They fit your feet more anatomically, and after wearing them, a number of foot and ankle problems I was experiencing just vanished. I don't understand why the only thing we've had to choose from until recently are those awful shoes with pointy toes that cause so many foot problems. I also like the zero drop concept, but I'm not much of a fan of the barefoot concept. So I decided to try this style of shoe for everyday wear and just walking. This shoe style, though it supposedly is made in a medium width shoe size", still is made for pretty wide feet. I have medium width feet. So these shoes are VERY wide at the toe for me, but since the shoe fits well otherwise, I'll be keeping them. I inadvertently ordered a size larger than I intended, but now I'm glad I did. While this shoe has a thicker sole than the "barefoot" shoes, there still is not much cushioning for shock absorption or much in the way of arch support. Frankly I don't know how they can market this as a "running shoe". But once I added an insert with some heel cushioning and arch support, the shoe is much nicer to wear and walk in, and it conforms much better to the shape of my foot. I will probably buy another pair of these when they wear out. But seriously, I wish Whiten (and others) would also offer more of their "wide toe box" shoe styles in medium width shoe sizes.

Love the fit and feel much better than Altra.
It’s early, I know, but I love these shoes! First of all, they are really nice looking. The maroon is a deep, rich color. I debated about getting the lilac pair but I’m glad I didn’t. Second, they feel terrific! I have been running exclusively in Altras since 2013 but haven’t loved them for the last four or five years. The issues I have with Altra are fit. The wide toe box has narrowed through the years, but the inner toe got longer. The long toe box has caused me to trip on a few occasions, while the narrow part across the width of my foot caused some numbness from a neuroma. Whitin seems to have rectified both of those issues by making the toe box very similar to how Altras used to fit. I have run three times in them, once for 5.5 miles and I road run. My feet felt great throughout. I couldn’t be happier with their performance so far. At $43, there is a bit of a trade off though. The vinyl along the laces looks sort of cheap and the foam bottom is a little harder and a bit noisier than my Altra Escalantes. I did, however, find a review online that said they tend to soften up over time. Also, I switched the insoles with my retired Escalantes for more cushion. The laces are really too long but I plan to buy elastic lock laces anyway so that’s a non-issue for me. In all, even if these shoes don’t go 400 miles like the Altras, I could buy three pair for the price of one pair of Altras, and I like the fit of Whitin far better. I hope this review will help other runners because I debated about getting them with so few specific running reviews. If you’re on the fence, and already run in zero drop Altras, I recommend giving them a try.

Great shoe for the price
UPDATE: Something about this shoe--the lack of structure perhaps--has began causing me foot pain. The shoes are not worn out. I guess my flat feet don't like these shoes, and I've been getting inner arch pain after wearing them. I switched back to my expensive Topo sneakers and the pain is gone, so it's definitely an issue with these shoes. Again if you don't need support you might be okay; otherwise please invest in some more structured shoes. ------- A great budget walking shoe for very wide feet that don't need too much support but benefit from a bit of cushioning. I walk for hours in these, and I wanted something passable for going out and socializing in, and these go with a range of outfits. Pros: * Very secure fit. * a good looking shoe compared to barefoot shoes. Does not look clownish. * plenty wide for my pizza shaped feet * I've walked on concrete for hours with these and they feel great. Cons: * sole is a bit stiff compared to altras. * sole is not as grippy in wet conditions as a trail shoe: I wouldn't wear these hiking. * good looking but not GREAT looking. These won't break your look but they won't elevate it either.

Comfort and stability!
So comfy! I am hoping these hold up , but I’m hopeful !! I wore these all day the first day and I’m amazed at the comfort . No , they are not cushy like a Hoka but to me they are supportive ! The zero drop makes me feel steady and secure . And my bunions are singing the praises ! Even though they are listed as wide , they fit my normal width foot and the size seems to be spot on compared to most store brands. And even though I wear a size 10 they don’t look like clown shoes - which I have found with many shoes . I’ll be ordering additional colors ! My only complaint was that the way they are shipped (in a bag) the first one I ordered had a majorly dented toe . I wasn’t able to make it stay out so I returned those ( a heavy box was probably set on pkg during transport ) but they were so comfortable I had to order again . Second pair was fine . I’m now waiting on a delivery of my next pair ! UPDATE: I received my second pair different color - just as perfect and comfortable as the first . Put on in morning and wore all day . This is the first time in YEARS that I’ve been able to wear closed shoes that don’t hurt and irritate my bunion !❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

5 stars so far!
Starting with 5 stars based on delivery, packaging, and first try-on. Very lightweight and sturdy. Not a lot of cushioning on the inside but still surprisingly comfortable. Easy to put on and the shoe strings are nice and long. They are true to size and I really appreciate the cushioning around the back of the shoes supporting the ankles. The toe box is perfect and my foot is not being crushed on top because the tongue of the shoe actually cradles the top of my foot instead of stabbing it. I walked around my living room in these and I actually feel more flexible in my ankles which is what I was hoping for with anterior tendon issues when I run. I literally smiled and said “I think I might love these”. We’ll see! I’m hoping these will keep their 5 star rating when I take them on the track tomorrow morning. I’ll update y’all soon! Update: OMG! These made ALL the difference! Wtf??? I’ve spent soooo much money on other “popular” brands that killed my shins and tendons in my ankles (I thought I was just in bad form), but THESE!!! I just ran a mile in these on a paved track and NO PAIN IN MY ANKLES OR TENDONS!!!!! I’m in love with these!!!! If you strike more on your mid foot or ball of your foot when you run, these are definitely for you!!!! YESSSSS!!!!!

Whitin always provides
This is a great back to the basics sneaker. Yet with Whitin you get the wide toebox and zero gravity. Alls good. And comfy. The sole is heavier than the trainers I have so I am looking forward to hitting the street walking. I bought these as a back up just incase a different pair/different brand didnt work out. So glad I did. This is a simple no frills great pair of shoes. Note I seem to go a half size smaller with Whitin. And my toes have plenty of breathing room. I got the blue- its kind of a cross between navy and royal. I like it. Can’t beat the price either. Great value. I may have to follow up after Ive walked a few weeks in them regarding durability.

Toe area too small
very low cut, my toes cannot go in at all eventhough it is the right size. Only suitable for skinny feet

Very comfortable and good value for money.
I bought this pair of shoes because of the wider fit as I have wide feet, they are very comfortable and will probably buy them again. I am very happy with my purchase.
