Bashian Santa Fe Collection H22 Hand Stitched Leather Area Rug, 5x8, Grey

This rug is made from narrow strips of genuine cowhide (with visible hairs) in a sunburst patchwork, bonded to a felt backing. It's very thin, but not 'cheap' in feel or appearance. It is not soft or luxurious underfoot, so we added a 1/4" rug pad. It has more brown/taupe tones than gray, and that's a good thing. It came rolled tightly, so it's taking some time to get one edge to lay flat (we have some books weighing it down). Most importantly, it turned a drab room into a modern and visually interesting space. We're delighted; I never had a "leather" rug but this is a nice decor item. UPDATE: The rug is easy to wear out, the hairs come out of high traffic areas, creating bald spots. Don’t expect to get more than two years of use

This rug is beautiful! I’m giving it a 1 because we cannot get it to lay flat. The end that was in the inside when it was rolled up will not lay flat. Other parts of the rug that were on the inside will not lay flat. We wrapped wood planksWe wrapped and have them lying on top of the rug with extra weight on them trying to get the rug to lie flat.We have done this for at least two weeks and when we check in at the rug is still curling. When you pay almost $1000 for some thing it should look good and perform correctly.
