Packing for light weight, are not many options. This is very good option for size and weight .

Optics are great but the mounting ring does not rotate around the body. Without that, it makes it practically very difficult for the angled view to reacquire a target. If you buy this item/model, get the straight body. This was returned in favor of the Maven, which had slightly better side-by-side optics and field of view from the large objective, much more zoom, and the rotating mounting ring, which makes the minimal extra weight of the Maven better than the Vortex.

Ordered this new from this seller. Came with the box being opened. Factory seal sticker was cut. The cardboard cover on the inside didn’t match the product. I hardly doubt that was a vortex mistake. Some dust on the lenses under the caps and a smudge. Something that I wouldn’t really expect from Vortex and ordering new scopes in the past. All that being said it’s a vortex so I’m not worried because it’s backed by the best warranty out there. The scope looks great on a tripod and great image quality. Looking forward to hauling it around the back country with how light it is.

This is an excellent scope for birding when you need something small, relatively light, yet still able to pull in distant shorebirds, ducks, etc. Vortex has wonderful, fast customer service.
