When I ordered them, I didn't realize the thicker rim at the top comes off so you can add a liner inside. I realized, that when I returned the rim, it hid the trash bag! That was a bonusThe wastebaskets plastic, which makes it okay if liquid was spilled into it. It's a perfect size for trashing mail and banana peels. I have two in my living room, one under my computer table, the other at the side of my couch. I love the homey cabin look, and these are perfect!
