Love her
I was first introduced to paranormal romance by Lara Adrian so many years ago. I’ve collected at least 30 books. I love how easily you can fall in love with her characters. I hope she continues to allow us to read her books on Kindle when we have to downsize and leave our precious books behind.

Asher and Naomi...Great start to the series!
Went into the story not knowing what to expect and found a world that was suspenseful, intriguing and emotional. Asher is a Breed and Hunter (a type of vampire that has been trained to be an assassin and has special ability) and apparently the humans are aware of their kind who have been around for a long time and have accepted their presence. He was in a terrible and cruel program that treated him and his breathen as killing tools, and he still suffers from the nightmares and guilt of that time even though he has escaped all that more than 15yrs ago and is trying to live in solitude in a ranch near the Mojave desert area. He comes across Narumi/Naomi being manhandled by gangster henchmen who were going to kill and dump her body in the desert and saves her life. He later sees her breedmate mark and is compelled to keep her safe as the Breedmates are precious, rare and are the only ones who can blood-bond/mate with the Breed and procreate. Naomi has been trying to take down Slater the casino gangster as he abused and murdered her mother.Things don't turn out as planned and danger heats up for Naomi and those she care about but Asher vows to keep her safe as he realises his love for her, his Breedmate. The connection between Asher and Naomi is heartwarming and off the chart chemistry.Overall a pulse pounding and emotional read as the pain each character has gone through and experience is so real and relatable that you can't help but cry and scream against the injustice of it all! I loved the justifiable ending and the closure that Naomi got and the happiness each of them found.

This book was an amazing start to a spin off series
This book was an amazing start to a spin off series! As a long term fan of Adrian's Midnight Breed series I have to be honest, when I heard the words "spin off" the first thing that came to mind was it was going to be one character from the main series with their own series. A common concept that many authors have tried and I've come to dislike. But what I like about this one is that it is not. The concept was taken from the original series but is based off of many different characters and I think that is why I loved this first book so much. Because there is no moving storyline between the spin off series, it'll be based on many different Gen One Breed's from Lara Adrian's Midnight Breed series and each book will have its own story. This definitely gives room for creativity and I can't wait until the next book launches!I think that both the Breed and the Breedmate in this first book were a perfect match to start with as they both are very strong characters at the same time have underlying weaknesses that have to come out in order for them to be together. The action in the story was great as well, each new character she brought in had a very rounded out character and an important role in a plot. By the end of the story nothing was left out of place or kept you wondering.Even if you are new to Adrian's works you will be able to start off right at the beginning and understand what happens without knowing much back history of the Breed. And for those of you who are fans of the series she does mention two members of the Order who we haven't heard from in a while!Would definitely recommend, it's worth a read. 5 out of 5 stars for me!

The Breed which are vampire 🧛♂️ aliens 👽
This was pretty good. I’ve read most of the Breed books I haven’t read them in a while and I happened to notice this one day so I read the first one. Back when you first started the Breed books you found out about the hunters which were Breed’s that were only for being assassins .. In this book she find out what happens to the hunters. And he was one of the worst hunters of all. He was an assassin for the assassins. If he didn’t do what his master said then he would’ve been the one that was killed so when the master told him to kill someone he kill someone. When he got away it been living 15 years out in the desert when he saw a man in a graveyard knocking around the young man and he knew they were up to no good. He hated to interfere but he couldn’t let that happen so he interferes and find out that the young man is really a young girl. Anna in this books you find out what happens to the hunters. And he was one of the worst hunters of all. He was an assassin for the assassins. If he didn’t do what his master said then he would’ve been the one that was killed so when the master told him to kill someone he kill someone. He hated to interfere but he couldn’t let that happen so he interferes and find out that the young man is really a young girl. And a breedmate.. The story was pretty good and I was hoping the second one was already out but I have to wait a little bit for it.

Fantastic
Asher is a vampire, created in a lab to be an assassin. He escaped twenty years ago and lives in the desert alone. On the way home one night, he comes across three men about to kill someone. When he intervenes, he finds the small person to not be a child but a beautiful woman. He takes her home and when she gets cleaned up, he sees the birthmark that makes her a Breedmate. Naomi is a small woman determined to take down the owner of a casino. She lived on the streets along with her best friend. They now run a house for homeless kids where they can come to get out of the weather, eat, and sleep safely. When the casino owner learns its her stealing from him, he wants her dead. Asher promises to keep her safe but can he keep his heart safe?Awesome story with action, sex, and vampires. Loved the characters. Asher is handsome and strong, Naomi is beautiful, independent, and has a loving heart.

3.5 Easy Stars
It's been 20 years since Asher escaped from his hellish upbringing in the labs, where he was forced to kill, he now lives a solitary existence in an isolated home in the middle of the desert. Hunted by what he was forced to do, he sees himself as irredeemable, a monster.Naomi lost her family when she was only a child, when her mother disappeared, murdered but forgotten by all but her daughter. Now, Naomi does whatever it takes to survive and help protect the children she cares for, with her best friend. Her last scheme results in her being crated off by some dangerous goons, bleeding and losing consciousness, she is rescued by Asher, who intends to drop her off at the nearest hospital and be done with her, that is until he realises she is a rare Breedmate, and he is honour bound to protect her.Asher and Naomi are both strong characters who refuse to back down, which leads to some lovely fireworks.I liked the ending of the book – it was nice seeing Asher, Naomi, and the kids all at ease.Overall an engaging read that has me interested in reading more books in the series. This can be read as a standalone.99p on amazon 26th December 2019.

Spin off series
I confess it's several years since I read the Breed series so I'm happy to finally start this spin off series. Asher was a assassin known as a hunter for the late and definitely not lamented Dragos. Now he's living a quiet life on a ranch outside Vegas when he stumbles across three men clearly about to execute a young boy.Naomi has a unique way around machinery and that's enabled her to twist some of the gaming machines in a casino owned by the man she believes had her mother murdered. She hadn't expected to get caught so easily and yep now she's in big trouble. Luckily one of the infamous Breed shows up and saves her but when he notices her birth mark everything changes.Ok I've always loved the Breed stories but this felt like a much quicker read than I remembered and its not even a novella ! Still I did enjoy it although the love was a little quick for me although I cannot fault the newer, more free Breed because it's allowing the author to go in whole new directions.

Saved by the hunter assassin
I really enjoyed this book which told the story of Asher, a hunter and Narumi who turned out to be a breedmate. At first, Asher thought he was just saving her life but soon sparks started to fly between them and the attraction was too great to resist. I liked that the main characters were flawed and each had a difficult past because that made them more interesting. There was danger, excitement and Romance from the start. I recommend this book for lovers of paranormal stories and I will definitely be reading more from this author.

boring storyline and boring characters
very slow paced with little romance or action like you get with the midnight breed series. the characters inner dialogue was boring and there was too much of it, the characters themselves were boring and I couldn't connect with them at all. the story seemed rushed and not much effort had been put into it. I am a huge midnight breed fan and have read all Lara Adrian books but I am very disapointed with the start of this series and I have already pre ordered book 2 so I hope it will be better than this story otherwise I won't read any more.
