My 2 studs are not centered on the wall above the fireplace. Can I screw the bolts off center on the wall plate?

Hello Nancy,If you have to mount the wall plate off center in order to catch two studs, that is fine. You can move the lifting mechanism/TV 6 - 8" to compensate for mounting the wall plate off center.-MantelMount Team-

Can a center speaker be mounted to this?

Hello, You can mount a center speaker. However, you are going to need a 3rd party universal attachment. Something like the attachment in the link below will work. https://www.amazon.com/Sewell-Direct-Universal-Soundbar-Bracket/dp/B00823170Y/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1502299725&sr=8-1&keywords=sewell+direct+universal+soundbar+bracket -MantelMount Team-

How far off of the fireplace does stick out when it is up and put away?

Hello Katherine,The back of your TV will be 5.39" from the wall, when in the up position. -MantelMount Team-

Can this work in an RV?

Hello, If you have enough space for the mount, then it will work in an RV. However, there currently isn't a locking mechanism. The mount is controlled by tension and gas springs. While I can't suggest using it in an RV, I will say that we've had customers report that their MantelMounts and TVs survived the recent earthquake in Alaska (2018 7.0 magnitude). :D -MantelMount Team
