I have purchased four of theses one for my bed at home, one for my recliner at home, and one each for the same place in my motor home, they work flawlessly I locate them just behind my head in each place I use them, and just reach out and touch them. I like the easy way of changing the light color, and brightness off and on.. they have a remote but I don't use it, I have too many remotes anyway, most of the time I can't find the remote I need but it's there and it works, I highly recombined these lights, I can't say how long I have had the first one, but have had not problems with it or any of the others......Ottis

I think one off my most favorite features is the timer. I'm notorious for telling myself I'll turn my light off before I fall asleep and it never happens that way, but with this lamp now, I don't have to worry about that about longer, all I have to do is figure out is what I want to set my timer for.

We use this as a reading lamp next to an easy chair. It is slightly behind the chair, so remote is a necessity.The cord plugs in fairly high on the pedestal riser. That is a strong negative, it's in the way. It should connect at the bottom or have clips to keep it from 'free-floating' in the air orThe lamp adjusts for desired brightness and color temperature, but the control buttons on the remote are backwards or counterintuitive. The right side of the ring dims the light while the left side brightens.

I purchased this a portable bench work (utility) light for my electronics lab. It's has a wide range of lighting capabilities. (color temp and intensity) My only real gripe is that the remote control unit is a bit small (easy to misplace), contains too many "timer" buttons and gives you finer control of the light than the buttons on the stem. Bottom line...Don't loose the remote. Also the main stem pieces are screwed together (not telescoping). But I only plan to use the lamp with all three stem pieces. There's is no "guide" for the power cord which plugs into the top stem. Great lamp otherwise.

I use this over my crafting table for weeding Cricut vinyl. Works great.
