Easiest way to mount video doorbell 340 non permanently-works well
I just had to replace my old video doorbell because it was refusing to connect and there are better products for sale these days anyhow. I went with the Eufy 340 which this mount is designed to handle. The only annoying part of assembling this unit is that the screws are not well labeled and two packages come with three screws (one set is a tiny bit longer). This mount will accommodate doors with hinges on the left or right side (as viewed from the outside), most USA doors will have hinges on the right side unless it's a very, very old house. The shortest screws (package of 3) is only for protecting the removal pin hole on the top of the eufy doorbell (you get a tool for removing the doorbell from their mount in order to change the battery etc.) and its only purpose is to hold a small metal plate over that pinhole to make it harder for anyone to steal. The pack of 3 slightly longer screws is for attaching the mounting bracket to the metal bracket that screws onto the doorbell using the bracket that came in the box with the eufy doorbell unit. Other than the screw packages need to be marked better, one of the screw holes in the metal bracket was not well drilled and it was hard to get the screw to go in all the way. It sticks up a bit higher but did not affect the doorbell mounting so not a big deal.Recommended tools: computer screw drivers made for precision screws preferably with long shafts or handles so it sticks up past the rest of the mount and makes it easier to screw them down into the mount bits. I suggest a redesign of the tiny metal plate that protects the removal hole, I should think they could come up with some way that plate will only slide off if the doorbell has been removed from the door, the need to be careful not to lose that tiny screw might get annoying after awhile. I mean you're given three, but if you're a clutz like me I should probably go buy a quantity of the right size so I'll always have some. One big caveat to this mount unit, if your door is not flush with the outside of your house, there could be issues what the doorbell cameras can see (or the illuminator for the night vision could be blocked also). You can use the "wedge" plate that comes in the eufy box that might help a little bit but if your door is anything but flush with the outside wall you might have some issues with this mount and what the doorbell can see. The instructions are mostly pictorial and they do not give the sizes of the screws included in the kit. The mount is functional and nicely designed but I took a star off because the screws aren't identified on the bag, the badly drilled screw hole, and the instructions don't give the screw sizes either. I like this mount because my house has brick on the front and that can be tough to drill through when mounting items like doorbells and this also does a bit to protect the eufy as opposed to the mount that comes with the doorbell that you only need something like a paperclip to get the doorbell off and take it. I mounted my doorbell on the door works great during the day, but for some reason night vision is pretty much non existent, I can't yet tell if the mount is blocking the illuminators in some way or if I've got some settings to figure out. Will update once I figure it out. There is an icon for the illuminator in the eufy software that gets truncated off to the right of the screen so you won't see it until you scroll the icons right, that was the night vision issue. My doorway has a small indent and the focal length of the lens on the eufy is low enough that even that tiny indent blocks view from the right side to an extent. The mount should be longer from the edge of the door allowing the doorbell to be mounted farther in (closer to the center) of the door right around where an old style peephole might get installed. When or if they revisit the design of this mount it's my hope they'll make the distance from the edge of the door longer not sure if this is anything I could improve myself but I'll surely think about it. It's still a good mount and will work fine as long as your doorway is flush with the outside wall. The only place you run into issues is when the door is indented a few inches or more due to the focal length of the lens on the doorbell. (i.e. the lens on the doorbell is what's called a "fisheye" the focal length is so small that the curvature of the earth affects the image.one last thing: Because the doorbell is mounted on the door that means every time you open the door you're going to have a recorded event unless you disable motion sensing, I don't go out a lot not a big deal for me but it might be if you have rug rats or open your front door often for various reasons.Possible solution, right side view blocking, it occurs to me that most doors are going to be quite a bit thinner than the mount can handle so it might help the fisheye problem to put something under the doorbell to force it farther away from the door and thus also a bit forward of the indent in the door frame. Not sure what the best choice might be for material maybe closed cell foam or a piece of plastic paneling? Only disadvantage is doing this might make the doorbell a bit easier to steal for someone that was really determined.

Metal is bent and doesn’t rest all the way against the door
The instructions for this product don’t clearly distinguish which side is considered left or right so I initially put it together incorrectly. The instructions tell you which side to mount it on depending on your door opening but they don’t mark the actual item or tell you in which direction it is facing that makes it left or right. The metal part that’s suppose to rest between the door jam was went outward slightly so it didn’t sit flush against the door, and therefore initially didn’t allow me to close the door. I was beyond frustrated at this. I had to smack it a few times to get it to sit right. I also think the back part (that’s inside the home) is too short and therefore pushes it out a little so then it really doesn’t sit flush. The screws for assembly are annoyingly small. Handling them while putting this thing together was so darn annoying. It does what it needs to do after some trial and error but I think there’s much needed room for improvement.

Good investment!
One of my best investments! No subscription needed. This camera is a piece of mind and I love the amplitude of angles you can get.

Flimsy.
Not worth the materials used to make it. Flimsy and interferes with the door closing. I mean it holds the camera but to keep it tight enough to stay in place it bends and comes into contact with my door frame. Amazon does not want me to post a pic I guess.
