The Advanced Formula contains bovine collagen, but Youtheory also sells a Marine Collagen product. So you can check that out if you are looking for a non-Bovine supplement. Collagen can help you. Not these. I bought these at costco and have had several outbreaks like itchy hives all over my body after taking it. I stopped taking it and the next day they where gone. Ive taken collagen from other suppliers and it has never bothered me. This collegen I belive (and from reading other reviews) is of very low quality. Its also not grass fed or organic so who knows what kind of Pestisides and Hormones your getting. Good luck

Is this hydrolyzed collagen? I can't seem to find it on the bottle, but it did come up on my search for "hydrolyzed type 2 collagen."

i was told this formula is for 50+ women, is it true? i am 31, can i try this to stronger my hair after i having a baby?

You are the optimal age to start taking collagen supplements.  I am 37 and after researching about anti-aging supplements, I have learned that after the age of 29, we lose about 1% of collagen per year.  So the earlier you start, the more you will maintain the collagen you have...slowing down the aging process.  Ironically you won't really "see" results since you have nothing to compare it with when it's anti-aging.  I started taking it when noticing hair loss after my baby and also wrinkles due to age.  I felt that my skin is more hydrated and my hair feels thicker and smoother.  There is A LOT more to it than just collagen though if you only want it for hair.  About four months post-partum, I started losing my hair because of the hormonal change and I freaked out!  I changed my nutrition, exercise, sleep, and minimized stress, and kept taking my prenatal vitamins which helped.  Then when I was done breastfeeding, I started taking collagen and complimentary supplements (like hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, and glucosamine chondroitin).  Hope this helps!  Your hair will grow back as long as you eat well.  A LOT of it is hormones balancing themselves after having a baby.  Our bodies are a miracle how it adjusts itself.  Congrats on your little one!
