Great book one for the King Family!
I loved this book so much. Emily discovers Whip works for her dad AFTER they hook up - forbidden tension and sneaking around ensues! I loved these two together, plus the small town shenanigans of Outtatowner make for a fun setting.

I AM OBSESSED
As if I already wasn't obsessed with the Sullivan Series, we now have the first book in the King Series and let me tell you IT DID NOT DISSAPOINT. Lena kicked off the King Series with Whip King's story. Just like Lee Sullivan, Whip is a firefighter in the small town of Outtatowner. Despite the pranks and rivalry, Whip takes his job very series. He is up for an award/promotion and wants to make sure he does not disappoint his boss, who he truly admires, however, after a hot one night stand with a sexy stranger on Valentine's Day, Whip finds himself captivated by the woman who ran off without any explanation, a woman who turned out to be his boss' daughter. I loved Whip and Emily. They were so hilarious. Their banter, their conversations, their chemistry, was all off the hook. Their attraction was undeniable and they couldn't stay away from each other even if they tried.I have to say that while the rivalry between the Sullivans and Kings is still ongoing, the siblings have all come to a mutual understanding. After all they do share a nephew. I think this series is going to focus less on the rivalry and more on the secrets and mystery surrounding the King family. The relationship with their father is a tough one. I won't lie, I have so many notes and theories. I am so invested in the lives of these two families. I CANNOT WAIT FOR ABEL'S BOOK.

Bossās Daughter
I was so nervous to read this new series just because I loved the Sullivanās so much and we meet the King family in a negative light through them. This first book was sooo good and Iām so excited to read all the brotherās stories! Also meeting Whip and seeing his character changed everything! Iām absolutely obsessed with him!Emily moved to the small town Outtatowner to be close to her mom and step dad after her life crumbled in Virginia. Her step dad is the captain of the fire department and she swears NO FIREFIGHTERS. Meeting a guy in the candy aisle of a convenience store, after a horrible blind date on Vday, she gives into the flirtation and has a one night stand. Finding out heās a firefighter, she ghosts him. Until he shows up in her class room, her parentās house and at the local bar, she decides to have a secret relationship with him.Well in the gossip small town, their secret isnāt very secret!Tropes:Small TownBad Boy/Good GirlFirefighterBossās daughterSecret RelationshipHe Falls First

Liked this book
I like this book I thought Duke Sullivan had a mouth on him but hello Whip King wow. I like Whip and Emily together I love that Whip was able to work through some of his childhood trauma and feeling like he wasn't good enough by being in a relationship with Emily. I also love how Whip made Emily feel more confident and sure of herself. Russell King sucks I can't wait for Able's book next!

Back in Outattowner we follow Whip and Emily. They meet on Valentineās Day and end up having one night of fun that they both canāt forget. That is until Emily finds out that Whip is a firefighter under her dad. All bets are off and they try to avoid each other but thereās just too much chemistry between them. I adored Emily and her resilience and determination. Whip is just perfection on paper and you just eat him up. Together these two were so special and deserved each other and the care and support they lended one another. It had a dash of family secrets ready to be unraveled and some great cameos. I couldnāt love this book anymore and it was just the best way to dig deep into the King Family. I canāt wait to see what else the series brings.
