Cable Matters 40Gbps USB4 Cable, 6.6ft, Black

I find this cable has been able to do everything I have thrown at it from transferring data from a high speed portable NVMe enclosure, to acting as a charging cable in a pinch for my S25. The construction of the cable is excellent, I have no doubt it will serve me well way into the future. From running various tests on this cable all of the pins are populated. I find the cable is slightly stiff, but I don't find this to be a bad thing as it isn't overly rigid and this is a good indicator of the gauge of the wiring and the shielding inside for maintaining a high speed connection. I find I have been able to charge my phone, my HP laptop, and anything else I have used this cable with and I have not experienced any issue. I haven't run into a single compatibility issue when using this cable for any task with any of a variety of accessories across both Windows and Mac systems and it has functioned at full speed for any application I have used it for.

There is nothing wrong with the cable, it seems to be good quality though it is much thicker and heavier than I wanted. I am sorry I bought it mostly because following Apple's advice I thought I could charge speed charge my MacBook at 140 W if I had a 240 W USB-C cable. As it turns out that's not the case at all, my 16" M1 MacBook Pro never negotiates more than 100 W from the 140W charger and never draws more than 80 W. So I bought this cable on poor information from Apple and I really don't need it. Unfortunately I had disposed of the packaging before I figured that out. Oh well.

Well made, works well. My phone connection to my truck seems to be faster.

Work great. Used with a dock, and picture, sound, and internet all come through fine at the 1m length. Just plug and play. The 2m length did not perform well. It would cut out and was not reliable.

Purchased this lil guy to connect hard drives in the field. I shoot video for a large corporation. At the end of each shoot, I need to transfer large numbers of large video files from computers and removable cards to other external devices. Your transfer is only as fast and reliable as the cable that connects everything. Connecting devices is a snap. It's only a cable after all. But what about reliability and speed? I've used this on well over a hundred shoots since I bought it. It's been shoved in a camera or computer bag over and over - and here it is still working. It's flexible - withstanding coiling and uncoiling in different temperatures and environments. I can't have cables that fail in a time crunch. This one has served me well, and I recommend it.

I've had this cable only a couple months, and it already seems to be on its way out. I had an SSD connected to it, and macOS told me multiple times that I was prematurely unplugging the drive. I did no such thing! So I moved the drive and this cable to another port on my MacBook Pro, and it was doing the same thing. I tried another cable of another brand, and no issues. The drive has been connected for a while now using that other cable and performing just fine. I wonder if the stiffness of this cable is the cause. Just like others have written, this cable is ridiculously stiff. Tree branches have more flexibility!

Very sturdy and excellent throughput. I have no problems with charging my phone, hooking up a disk reader, or data transfer speeds with my external drive bays. I do prefer braided cables hence the 4 stars instead of 5.

The most important thing when I grabbed this cable was the USB standard and length. This cable delivers on both of those specifications! It seems well-built enough. It's a little stiff and not perfect if you need something highly flexible, but it is GUARANTEED to match the USB spec if you need high speeds (like for video).
