High quality
Oh, I love this fan! This review is definitely influenced by my purchasing a different fan, similarly priced, and seeing how bad it was in so many ways. I sent it back and got this Rowenta fan. My mistake on the other fan was returning it before I could write a one star review on it to warn other people. The only reason I’m mentioning it is from a comparison standpoint. It’s like a Lexus versus a Hyundai. You can’t go wrong with this fan. I’ve read other reviews and I agree with the positive ones. One said cheaply made, and I could not disagree more. The other fan was flimsy and rusted. Yes I said rusted! This has a solid, weighted base, easy to assemble, quiet mode and one simulating the shifting of natural breezes. Love the remote control and oscillating function AND that it has its own GFI plug since it can be left outside except in extreme weather. Very happy!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE
I’ve been using this fan for many, many months, quiet enough for me, no issues with the remote or the unit itself, runs as it should, display has had no issues. I usually use #2 speed during the day and throughout the night. I would highly recommend this fan!🤗

Lifesaver for a hot summer
We had this on our porch. Placed it maybe 4 1/2 feet in front of where we sit. It really helped keep us cool. It is under a partial roof, but still got wet during heavy rains. It handled the rain and wind well. No problems with it all summer. I’m glad we own it!

Unbelievable
Okay, first of all my wife and I own two of their indoor floor model quiet fans and keep them in our bedroom. When I say quiet, I literally mean they're undetectable to the average person running. Utterly amazing and incredibly expensive. So when I saw that they made it outdoor fan, it was sort of a no-brainer. My wife and I spent a lot of time outside whether it's on the patio furniture or grilling or even in the hot tub... This is not quite as quiet because you want to move a lot of air but it's 100% weatherproof, it's not bad looking, and it works like a charm. This thing moves a ton of air and for the price you can't go wrong. This company stands behind their products so if you have a problem they will make it right. Smart piece of advice, bring it inside in the winter, don't cover it just bring it in and put it in your basements or garage. It'll last for years

Fan assembly keeps falling backwards!
I was excited for this fan to put in the patio and spend some time outside over the summer. The fan assembled easily, I have four other indoor Rowenta fans so I understand how they work and how to assemble them. I like Rowenta fans a lot! But when I was done, the fan turned on and the fan housing tilted to the back so the fan was blowing above me. I thought it was part of the programming at first but it never came back to face straight. I tried over and over, the fan was too powerful and would always tip the fan backwards. I boxed it up and returned it right away, this fan is too expensive to have a fan that can't stay pointed where you want it! Love Rowenta but this fan is not good enough to be in their lineup--I would avoid!

The outdoor model is too noisy for bedroom use.
This seems to be an example of Amazon treating variations of a product line as equivalent where they shouldn't have. I bought this fan specifically on recommendation of it being quiet with the suggestion that it runs at 35 dB on low. I don't know if this is true for the white/silver, indoor models, but it is definitely not for the black, outdoor model. Instead, it runs at an ear-straining 60-65 dB from low to high speeds, as measured by a decibel meter beside it. I can actually feel relief on my ears when turning it off after running it for a few hours. On that note, it turns itself off unpredictably even without the timer set. I'm sure this has something to do with the mode set, but the manual doesn't explain what any of them do. Worse, it refuses to remember the last settings when you power it back on.On the upside, construction is solid, and the unit seems reasonably shielded against the weather for outdoor use. The cord holder is great for transport, though could use one for the tiny, easily lost remote. It looks like it would be easy to clean. All in all, though, the sheer noise is a dealbreaker. Other than the cowl for rain, I don't see that much difference between it and the indoor models, so take those noise ratings with a grain of salt. Sadly, it's difficult to unbox in a way that makes it easy to cleanly return too.

Excellent fan for a patio or garage.
The fan does a great job at moving air on my covered 24x12ft patio. As it sits next to the screen, it often gets rained on, but I have not noticed any issues with finish deterioration or impaired functionality at all.The good: it is fairly quiet for a large and somewhat powerful air mover. The base has lockable wheels, but they are badly needed; the base is heavy and does not scoot around even in pretty strong Florida winds. The assembly was easy and straightforward. The power cord has a GFCI built in, which is a good thing to have on an electrical appliance that will be subjected to inclement weather. The less good: the remote is tiny, easily misplaced, and does not function very well if not aimed DIRECTLY at the fan. As in “iron sights” kind of directly. It doesn’t not help that the fan shroud is extremely close to the sensor and undoubtedly blocks a part of the IR signal from reaching the sensor. The only other thing that is quite irritating is that every time the fan is turned on, it is in the default “natural” mode, in which the speed goes up and down and sometimes to “off” at random. It’s designed to emulate natural wind, but it’s more of an annoyance or hinderance than a feature. If you need the fan to push air, it should be the default setting. So, to overcome this, you will turn the fan on, and then immediately hit the mode button to put it on “outdoor” mode, which allows it to keep constant speed and do what you bought it to do - move air and cool you down.TLDR: Would I buy it again, despite the few admittedly minor grievances I have? Absolutely.

Circulates air for more comfortable outdoor deck use
Even on a hot day, this fan circulates the air to make our back deck comfortable and useable.
