Everything You Need to Know to Start Your Wiccan Journey Although it is estimated that there are over 1 million practicing Wiccans around the world today, Wicca is one of the world’s few religions that is more likely to be studied entirely on one’s own than through in-person guidance. Depending on where you live, you might be able to find a coven or circle where you can meet fellow Wiccans and ask questions, but most newcomers to Wicca find themselves traveling solo. Luckily, there is no shortage of information about the “Old Religion” in print and online. Yet with all of the diverse and often conflicting perspectives out there, it can be hard to know where to begin. That’s why best-selling author Lisa Chamberlain created the Wicca Starter Kit , bringing together three of her most popular guides—Wicca for Beginners, Finding Your Path, and Living a Magical Life—to get your journey underway. Wicca for Beginners: a Guide to Wiccan Beliefs, Rituals, Magic, and Witchcraft Wicca for Beginners was created as an entry point for anyone seeking information about this fascinating religion. It is intended as a broad introduction, addressing the most commonly asked questions by people new to Wicca. Lisa covers the history of Wicca, including its modern foundations as well as its ancient inspirations; the Wiccan God and Goddess; the Sabbats and the Esbats comprising the Wheel of the Year; core elements and tools of Wiccan ritual; basic principles of magic from both ancient and modern sources; and even an example ritual and spell suitable for beginners. By the end of this guide, you will definitely have a solid understanding of the essence of Wicca! Finding Your Path: A Guide to Wiccan Traditions, Solitary Practitioners, Eclectic Witches, Covens and Circles One of Wicca’s greatest strengths as a spiritual practice is the variety of paths one can choose from. Perhaps you want to join a coven within an established tradition, or maybe a more individualized practice is your calling. In Finding Your Path , you’ll learn about the wide spectrum of contemporary Wiccan practice, from traditional “orthodox” covens to looser, more “eclectic” covens and circles, as well as the more recent phenomenon of solitary practice, which has appeal for both traditional and eclectic Wiccans alike. Lisa covers everything you need to know about covens and circles, including their history, their structures, and how to find your Wiccan community. You’ll also be introduced to the main Wiccan traditions: Gardnerian, Alexandrian, and Dianic, as well as other less common traditions. If you don’t already have a sense of the amazing diversity of this innovative religion, you certainly will after reading this book! Living a Magical Life: A Guide to Initiation and Navigating Your Journey in the Craft New Wiccans will encounter two essential questions: 1) should you formalize your practice of the Craft with an initiation ritual? and 2) how do you integrate your new beliefs into your day-to-day life? In Living a Magical Life , Lisa addresses questions regarding coven initiation and solitary self-dedication, as well as less often-discussed topics like navigating common obstacles along your spiritual path, leaving behind old beliefs that no longer serve you, and developing and strengthening your inner psychic guidance system. There’s also a step-by-step solitary initiation ritual you can perform when (and if) you feel the time is right, and spellwork for helping you stay in touch with your magical perspective every day—not just on Sabbats and Esbats! Get Started Today! Embarking on a new spiritual path is exciting, but it can also be overwhelming. The Wicca Starter Kit is a unique and comprehensive collection of books designed to welcome you to the Wiccan world and encourage you on your journey. Blessed Be! Review: Great books collection for learning - Amazing book collection. Good for learning, understand and find your path. Review: Insightful and Inspiring, a Must Have - By far the most helpful and informative beginners guide that I’ve read yet. I love how it delves into the history of modern witchcraft/paganism/wicca, and doesn’t try to persuade the reader into only one way of practicing the Craft. The common issue I’ve run into with other guides has been the author trying to sell you on a particular style of practicing, and this book does a wonderful job of remaining unbiased, and encouraging the reader to be open minded and find their own niche within the belief. That’s not to say that it doesn’t give good structural advice too, to someone who is maybe looking for step by step pointers on how to get started. This book really does cover the basics and give you a good idea of how to arrange your altar if you’re unsure, of what tools are best used when and for what purpose, and even has nice little charts near the end of each section that explain which color candles are good for different spells, and which common herbs, crystals/stones, and incense does what. I’d also like to say that the reviews stating this book is “disrespectful to monotheistic, particularly Christian beliefs” are wrong. This book brings up a few times the factual statement of Christianity adopting pagan traditions, and that throughout history the Abrahamic religions have not taken kindly to paganism or witchcraft, both of which are accurate statements. Overall it was a wonderful read (I devoured it in a night!) and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to get started.

Personally loved it.
For me I believe in God and I never planned to have Wicca take over my religion. What I gathered from this book is Wicca can be what you want it to be or what you need it to be for y o u r s e l f. Yeah there’s going to be people that follow certain traditions and just do so many things you maybe wouldn’t want too but the glory of it all is as individuals we can customize some things and Wicca in my opinion is one of those things. You get to choose what feels right, what feels natural, what you care or don’t care to do. I’m sure the people that follow tradition would negatively maybe feel someone isn’t following things right if they don’t do everything to a T but like I said I personally believe it’s meant to be something you want and naturally need not something along the lines of a chore. Reading the book personally felt like things I’ve already felt my entire existence so I legit breezed through that book in like 2 days and I never read or finish books my patience doesn’t allow me. That book kept me wanting more and I can’t wait to read up more on it. It’s okay to read and dive into Wicca, whoever makes you feel weird for doing so or negatively doesn’t support you like experiences I’ve had...choose your path for you and you only. Don’t let people scare you from knowledge. Learning about Wicca is beautiful even if that’s all you do is read. It’s harmless and people need to get ahold of reality that there’s different walks of life.

A general collection
I read this book quite quickly, and if you are just embracing/beginning your path this is a great series to pick up. This is NOT a how-to book, but gives you insight into some of the more common characteristics/beliefs/types of Wicca. I like how the author is open-minded and leaves everything to you to consider; she is not giving a final say-so for Wicca. This is a great book to get your feet wet with, and I recommend it. I did 4 stars only because of some of the editing/grammar mistakes; kind of distracting for me personally.

So thankful for this book!
I had been drawn to Wicca as a teen, but never looked more into it as I think it just wasn't the right time. Recently decided after having it come up over and over around me to start learning and purchased this book. Couldn't be happier! It is a pleasure to read and gives information in an easy and fun format so even when I am tired from work and caring from my daughter I can relax and understand what I am reading over. I told my closest friend and she was interested so I bought the book for her as well and shes excited to have it arriving this Monday. I highly suggest this to anyone that wants to find more info on the Wiccan religion. I look forward to picking up more books as I go on this journey and now, I have company on the path.
