30530 Oregon 4 LE WP 8x25 Compact Binocular Black

Every birdwatcher looks for a pair of binoculars to leave in the car, or keep in pocket for those non birding occasions when you aren’t carrying your “favourite”, these fit the bill perfectly. The single hinge design is far more user friendly than the twin hinge, so are very comfortable and easy to use. The optical quality is perfectly good enough for binoculars of this size, a clear sharp image, with a little fall off towards the edges, but remember these are not thousand pound instruments, for their price point the are punching well above their weight. They are perfect for keeping in the glove box or door pocket for occasional use, and an added bonus will close down small enough for children to use, great for handing to grandchildren. Personally I am so happy with the performance of these that I will be ordering a further couple of pairs so every car has a pair, and a pair in my coat pocket. These binoculars are exactly what I have come to expect from Opticron, excellent value for money.

These are amazing. They are a great size to throw in a bag. I did hours of research learning about how binoculars work to help select the one I wanted. These are great for people who wear glasses. I no longer have to take them off to use the binoculars. I find them fairly lightweight although the next strap is quite thin and is not comfortable to wear. Maybe I can find another. The eye piece protectors are great as is the outer case that comes with them. I got these for 2 uses. Outdoor - we took them on a safari in Kenya and they were perfection!!! These are outstanding for focusing on a single animal of a group of they are further away. Indoors - I have taken them to music concerts and they are great except the field of view is too small. I get a zoom of one person very well but they don't work to see the entire band for instance as a close up. Because I love this brand, I will figure out another pair I can use indoors with a large field of view. Highly recommended!!!

Nice little binos, with the good quality from OPTICRON. Really recommended for the price

Nice binoculars, very close focusing as per specification.

Compared to the sub £25 pocket binoculars you buy when you don't know any better these are a revelation. Optical and build quality are on a different level, with a sharper, brighter image and features like twist up eyecups and stay on lens covers (both objective and ocular). They are supplied with a slim neck strap (fine for their weight) and a decent soft case (velcro fastened flap, shoulder strap, no belt loop). Their lowly position in Opticron's range shows in a couple of places; the eyecups can easily be pushed back in unintentionally, the focus wheel is a bit stiff and the unfocussed area around the edge of the field of view is quite large and obvious. If you must have compact binoculars, won't use them much and can't spend more you could be quite happy with these. On the other hand you can get better performance from less compact porro prism designs at a similar price or spend more to get an all round better product.
