Aries A101 Under Sink Filter Replacement Cartridge

When my latest order arrived from WaterFiltersOnline LLC, I was sure I'd received the wrong filter for my old water filter system. It's far smaller in circumference and slightly higher than all former ones I've received from them. I searched other peoples' comments to find how best to contact them ([email protected]) and emailed them late in the afternoon PDT. I assumed I wouldn't hear from them until the next day, only to receive a response within an hour and subsequent emails to my further questions that evening. This company definitely cares about their work, just as they told me in their last exchange: "We pride ourselves on our customer service and product selection." Many reviewers of this 'Compatible Fit' replacement have been noting that it is smaller than the original Amway part. Some have expressed anger at being misled by Amazon, or feel cheated since the filter is in fact smaller than Amway's official replacement. However, they are missing the point: this filter is about 75% of the capacity of the original, but it also costs less than half as much as the original direct from Amway! Setting aside weather or not the unit filters as well as an Amway original, determining if the unit is a good value or not is purely a question of math.To determine the value of each unit, we'd need to look at the value of the unit by comparing its cost with it's lifespan.Unit Cost x Lifespan = ValueAmway's OEM Part:$125.00 for 1 lifespan = $125.00 per lifespanCompatible Fit Replacement$60.00 for .75 lifespan = $80.00 per lifespanAnother way to look at this, would be the number of this Copatible Fit Replacement filters which could be purchased for the same price as the original from Amway:$60.00 \ $125.00 = 2.08So even if they only have 75% of the lifespan, you do a little better than 2-for-1 on price. Effectively that means that you get an extra half of a lifespan from the unit on Amazon.Arguments about if the filter works as well as the original could only be tested through a scientific process that would be difficult to conduct at home. I can tell you that the water coming out of the this filter tastes just as good to me as what came from the Amway unit it replaced, but that's just my anecdotal experience. For me that's good enough. If you're worried that this filter won't do a good job of filtering water in general, you should probably pay more and get an OEM part from Amway. If, on the other hand, you believe a water filter is pretty much a water filter, rest assured that this is a good value, at least when compared with Amway's offering.Hope that clears the air a little bit.

Fits and works needed

I've used this filter before and got about 2 years out of it because it was only connected to an ice maker. You need to verify whether your filter has a fine or course thread when ordering it. Mine has a course thread and so far after 3 attempts to fulfill my order I am still waiting for the correct filter to arrive. The filter is decent, just be sure the fitment is correct before ordering.

Fits my Amway E-84 just fine, washer was included. It did not flush carbon out after being installed as the Amway original filters did, as well as the after market filters I've been using for the last 5 years or so. But it is the full size as the originals, so it has much more filtering surface. Water tastes great, and we are on well water with heavy iron.

After years of spending over $100 for an Amway replacement filter, I came across this filter at less than half the price.I figured I'd take a chance on it for the price.A few reviewers complained that the filter is noticeably smaller than the Amway filter.It's nearly the same size, and not much smaller.It installed with no problem, and no leaks.The only thing is, make sure you run water through it for a few minutes, and do it again the next day.The water coming out of my faucet was cloudy for a few minutes.The next day, it was even worse!After running it for several minutes on the second day, it cleared up, and the water has remained crystal clear.I can't tell the difference in taste from the $100+ Amway filter, so I'm sticking with this one.

I was very pleased with the speed with which I received my order. For those of you who have an Amway under-the-counter water filter, you know that when it needs to be changed, it starts to beep. The beeps get louder and last longer the more you wait to replace the filter!!! So I was very glad to receive my new filter so fast. It seems to be working well, and was much less expensive that ordering it from the manufacturer. I'll definitely order again next time!

I have been using this filter for some time now (I believe this is my third one) and I have had no problems with it at all. Yes it is a slightly smaller cartridge, but it fits just fine. My water tastes great. One issue I had where I live is a heavy chlorine taste to the water, this filter removes that taste completely. It ships with a replacement washer and is installed just like the OEM filter. If you follow the normal installation procedures there is no way that it will leak or otherwise create a problem. Based on our usage I have been able to use it for a full year without any issues at all. A great alternative to the original filter.

Build quality felt ok, but it was not compatible, the treading is not the same as my original Amway A101 filter, the threads are different one is coarse while the other is fine.

INCONSISTENT PRODUCT - I bought this item for a second time on Sept. 4, 2019. The first time it was fine although it took a while for the water to taste normal. However this time they sent one with a different caliber of threading where the filter screws onto the filter housing. Because it was a repeat order, I unfortunately did not try to install it within the 30 day limit. So now I have a totally useless filter, and no way of ensuring that if I order it again, I'll get one that actually fits.

Bought two of these, First one worked absolutely PERFECT. Had second one a couple months before using, and housing was badly cracked. No damage at all to cardboard box, so company purposely sold damaged goods. Produst great, Packeging company not so good.

Great product fit on my Amway under the Sink Water Filter System perfectly, I will be buying more soon as I plan to keep my water system for many years.

Works fine, I would like to find the 5 inch O-ring for a better price, or they could bundle it and sell more?
