The Timber-Frame Home: Design, Construction, Finishing

Great background and visual timber frame home design book
Would recommend this book for background on timber frame homes and visual home design book. Provides terrific background into different options to allow one to speak to a builder if considering a timber frame of your own. Does not include construction details and sizing span tables like Building the Timber Frame House by Tedd Benson with James Gruber, though the two books compliment each other well.

Great book
Great book with a good mix of design fundamentals and modern building techniques. If you want to build a drafty old timber-frame barn, look else where. This book is all about a modern energy efficient timber-frame that will last for the next 200 years. Good descriptions of how to handle all the major house systems from the foundation to plumbing and electrical. I am getting ready to build a timber-frame and would highly recommend this book to anyone looking to build one.

Excellent
This book is very useful if you are planning to build your own timber-frame home. This is true if you literally want to build it yourself, or if you want to subcontract the work. It gives information on dealing with critical issues such as: the foundation, wiring, plumbing, insulation, finish work and general design considerations. It's the best book I've seen for providing a detailed overview of the timber-frame building process.

Great Book from design throughout construction, as well as the finished product.
This is an amazing book, which gives a person true insight on the differences of each style of project. Ted covers the facets from design inception and goes through each stage, where a future home owner of a timber frame home can and will benefit greatly. It is a very good step by step book and one for the future home builder/ owner.
