Easy Banjo Songbook for Beginners with Video & Audio Access
S**2
A fantastic set of songs to learn. Easy Tab format, no serious prior experience needed.
I highly recommend purchasing this book with the "Banjo Primer" also from the same author Geoff Hohwald to get a solid foundation in playing a regular size 5 string banjo if you have absolutely no prior experience. This collection of 19 songs includes digital access to content that includes 4 hours of instructions and audio samples and background jam tracks to get you up to speed quickly. It's like a having a high end guitar instructor, which is Hohwald, teach you directly and you do learn quickly.I have no prior experience playing a banjo except for noodling on one locally at a big box guitar store. After purchasing the "Banjo Primer" and partially mastering that book I was able to play "Dueling Banjos" only 4 days later. That gives you an idea of how easy it is to learn from this author and his books. I'll be honest I did skip the other 18 songs, but I plan on playing them as well of course at a later date.- Note the is in easy to follow "Guitar Tab" format and does not have any real music notation to follow. So, this will work for an absolute beginning with no prior experience what-so-ever. Again, super easy to follow.- This book is only intended for a regular size 5 string banjo. Not a Banjo-guitar, Banjo-sitar, Banjo-Ukelele, Banjocita, Banjolele, Banjitar or any other countless variants of a banjo.

Fine book, just not many songs.
The book has good songs, there just aren't that many. I was hoping for a more lengthy anthology.

Great Addition to the Banjo Primer
Cool addition to the Banjo Primer. I like using both of the books at the same time so that I am not only learning fundamentals, but some progressively harder songs as well.

Great supplement
This book is a supplemental work that offers additional songs and video instruction. It works well and is worth the money.

Save your hard earned money
Pay good attention. 1. This is a flimsy "book" which looks like something you'd pick up for free in a car show room. It is not spine backed so highly inconvenient for playing from. It is literally wafer thin but very wide but with large writing inside , in an attempt to make the flimsy content seem more. There is no CD or Video included it is only online access. The actual tutoring is extremely poor. If you're a beginner go for the Wayne Erbsen book not this over priced gimmick book. The only reason most consider getting this is for the so called easy version of duelling banjos. It's better if you just pay a couple of bucks and download the banjo tab for the song than buy this book. I'm shocked why anyone would give this 5 stars. Almost a complete waste of money, worth 3 bucks if that. Save the money for some high quality American banjo strings.

Excellent banjo tutorial
Excellent book for beginners as with all Geoff Hohwald books. The online lessons are very good. I have tried several beginners books and the Geoff Hohwald ones have been the most enjoyable and have improved my banjo playing the most.

online tuition at various speeds.
not many songs but the online tuition makes it easier to learn than with a dvd because you can easily go back to a part you want to work on.

Very good value for beginner banjo students
I purchased this as a kindle edition instead of the printed book because I wanted a complete easy to use resource to compliment other media ie. YouTube lessons, online tabs, banjo hangout, etc. I’m not truly new to the 5 string banjo, having played the instrument for about 13 years now, but Geoff’s teaching style is the next best thing to having actual one in one in-person instruction that you will find out there. The other comparable online lessons are the superb David Cavage lessons from the now defunct Musicmoose website. Geoff’s approach is systematic and gradual, getting you playing simpler versions of popular but must know tunes that every banjo student should know. The inclusion of the video lessons, the printed material including complete tabs, the practice and instrumental backup tracks at different tempos at a very reasonable price make this package a winner in my book. I highly recommend this resource as a great starting point for any beginner or like me, someone who needs reinforcement of the basics again after somewhat neglecting my playing after life got busy. Just get it, get started learning this incredible instrument and most of all, relax and have fun!

Recomendo.
Excelente. Fácil de entender e bem objetivo. Cumpre o que divulga. Agora vou poder progredir nos estudos mesmo sem professor.
