Much more sturdy than plastic

Easy to fit, does the job

Old one was 30 years old and the plastic triangle that the key goes over had worn down making it difficult to open the door. A pair of pliers removed the old plastic catch in moments and this new one fitted in its place perfectly. The clench washer was fitted from the outside of the door using an 11mm 1/4inch socket ( which fits perfectly) and given a couple of hard taps with a hammer to secure it. Only took 5 minutes and job's a good'un. Well pleased.

Solid design, as described, and now fitted. Fast delivery, although the envelope wasn't strong enough to prevent breakthrough, but no damage to the item itself!

Says on one of the photos that it fits all UK boxes - it does not. It looks strong and would do a good job if it fits, but beware that it won't fit all boxes, for example my electric box needs a circular lug on the back of the latch that this one doesn't have.

I looked to replace my utilities cupboard, { dam expensive } so bought a different style catch and made it fit, and saved a bob or two
