Q: How do you remove the insert connector from the head (I tried a small screwdriver and was afraid of tearing it)?

I have the same problem and I don't know how to remove it without damaging the figure. I will tell you that this HiPlay 1/6 figure is NOT a true accurate 1/6 figure and is actually shorter that true 1/6 scale figures, but you may have found this flaw already. I wasted over $100 and now I can't use it. HiPlay is a bad product!

Q: Is the Tobey Maguire head real or a bootleg?

You must know that figure product made in China is duplicated by many makers and you are likely to buy a low grade duplicate figure not made by the original maker. If you want to continue buying a China product be satisfied with what you can get.
