Exactly what I was looking for.

When I found this item I thought that it was supposed to come apart in two pieces to make putting on and taking off the weights on my bar quickly. For example I thought the inner part would clamshell over the bar where you wanted it and then you slide the outer part over it to hold your weights in place over the bar. This is not the case since it's all one piece. On the original weight lock for my bar I had to spin it for over 12 inches to get it to the weight. This is the same thing but way slower to thread on since it doesn't allow me to spin it freely to make to go faster.The functionality is fine for a weight lock but I misinterpreted how it worked and I'm not sure if that's on me or if the advertising is misleading.Unfortunately I won't be using this since it doesn't give me the ability to quickly change out the weights on my bar which is what I thought it allowed.

I didn't think plastic would work on metal 30lbs worth of weight, but it holds up just fine. I had cheap doumbbells from Walmart, the METAL GEAR LOCK that was included spun easily and it was kind of fun unscrewing it off quickly...but it also got loose LITERALLY EVERY SET I'd hear clanking at the end and it was super annoying. Now they stay put...the only minor grip is it takes way more time to unscrew to add / remove weight plates...but a worthwhile trade. I don't need a plate falling off.
