Still Wakes the Deep - Play Station 5

If you're looking for an immersive Lovecraftian story based game with excellent graphics and top tier voice acting, this is it. If you're looking for action, run away fast.

Excellent game

I believe IGN was the only one that gave this game such a bad review, but....whatever. For those of us fans of this genre of video games, not to mention fans of THE THING, this game is right up your alley. Don't know if it can be considered cosmic horror, but it's definitely got some Lovecraftian elements (fear of the Unknown) not to mention The Thing.....BUT ALL ON AN OIL RIG. How awesome is that?! The visuals, the music, the voice acting! Its all superb and really immerses the player into this world aboard the oil rig the Beria. And the gane may be linier, but what better way to make a horror game than in a claustrophobic environment. I'm not a good reviewer as you can see, but all I can say is....if you're a horror fan and/or you're also looking for something new (something uniqueand different)....pick this game up. There are no jump scares (except an occasional hose breaking, pipes bursting. But I'd say what makes this game even greater is its characters and it's story. Horror it may be, but I personally believe it's much more than that. It's about friendsip, trust, love, the human spirt....oh....and some monsters.

I love sci-fi horror and this game didn't disappoint. It felt more like a cat and mouse game, with the ability to distract the enemies. But overall, the story had its moments. But kind of felt like something was missing. It really reminded me of John Carpenters The Thing. Also as I got done with this, I learned Amazon Prime has a show called "THE RIG." Which is based on a oil rig, just like the game. And it's Sci-Fi Mystery? Check it out!

I am a huge game collector and usually try to only stay with retro games, but in this case, I watched a few walk-throughs and I was massively impressed!!!! Yes, the game is a fairly short game, I think I beat it in about 3 to 3 1/2 hours, and that’s right up my alley. I am not interested in games that take 10, 20, 30 or more hours to play and beat. If you want a survival horror game, there are a lot of bad words (be aware of that, didn’t enjoy that part), but looking for jump scares, monsters chasing you, while trying to escape an oil rig in the North Sea and mostly linear you will love this game. There is a hard mode that will take longer but I love it.

Fun, short game.

Game was worth it. A must play game 5-6 hours but worth it.
