Works with my F4 Polar Watch BUT !
The positive thing that it worked with my F4 Polar Watch, straight out of the box. However the negative aspect is also, that it worked with my F4 Polar Watch straight out of the box.Without the need to remove a Battery isolation strip or any other means of switching it on/off and therefore I've no idea how old the Battery is or how long it's been in use. It's clear changing the battery isn't a DIY job and trying to get a price from Polar for changing it, is akin to banging ones head against a wall, so I'll be move to a different monitoring kit when the battery fails.

It makes it easy to keep a steady pace that keeps me in ...
We cannot go to the gym without our Polar Heart monitors. These work well with most electronic exercise equipment. I watch my heart rate instead of the machine intensity. It makes it easy to keep a steady pace that keeps me in my personal heart rate zone that is good for me. It gives a constant reading without having to grab the heart monitor handles. Washable. I had my first one for about 15 years. I would still be using it, but I accidentally left it somewhere. I replaced it with exactly the same monitor. Great product with a great price. So worth it!!!!!!

Didn't work with Lifefitness Treadmill
I had one of these previously used with a Lifefitness bike but recently swapped that for their treadmill. Despite syncing up properly, it was always very slow to connect and didn't start to read heart rate until 5-10 mins into exercise (pads were moist and positioned correctly). Then when a heart rate was detected, it always showed incorrectly, either around 200bpm or 65bpm despite my fitbit measuring approx. 140bpm at the same time. Not reliable at all, sent back for refund.

It is however a perfectly good transmitter (hence 2 stars not 1)
As per some other reviews, this is a sound transmitter, however the battery unit is sealed and POLAR DO NOT offer replacements (I asked) see below quote "Thank you for your email. The T31 transmitter is a sealed unit. as such its battery cannot be replaced. If it has expired you would need to purchase a replacement transmitter. These are available from Polar stockists nationwide" is scandalously wasteful. It is however a perfectly good transmitter (hence 2 stars not 1)

T31 Uncoded polar HRM
I bought this for use with equipment at the gym - notably a Precor treadmill and a STAR TRAC spinner. I decided on the uncoded version as it was cheaper than the coded and had never seen another gym user using a HRM. Before i used it I read that STAR TRAC will only recognise coded straps but was relieved when it did connect and it worked really well - stayed connected. No interference luckily but that was due to spinners being in the far corner of the gym away from most equipment and no other users wearing HRMS.However on the treadmill my HRM was detected on treadmills both sides of me and I also found the connectivity and measurements were erratic - this could be due to the fact that the HRM was trying to connect to other equipment near by. I would recommend paying a bit extra and buying a coded one. Also you cant changed the battery on this. When its dead its dead - however you do get 2400hrs / 5 years of use

invisible technology
I was not even sure if this was working until I saw my heartrate on the display of a technogym piece of equipment in my gym.You don't need to pair this, to turn it on, off, or do anything at all... you just wear it and somehow it connects to the equipment. They say the best technology is invisible, and this fits that bill!

Beware of it rubbing the skin.
I bought this to replace the chest strap, from my RS300X heart monitor which had worn out as it was several years old. This chest strap is more rigid than the original and I found it rubbed my skin and made it sore. Communication with Polar wasn't great. They suggested it was an allergic reaction, but it certainly wasn't that as it was localised to one area. I replied and am still waiting after a few days for a response. I use sticking plaster to prevent rubbing and it does work, but I would have preferred the same style as I originally had. This one does work though.

wrongly described size
The description says it fits a 52 inch chest but it doesn't. I am a 43 inch chest and it is very tight and uncormfortatable. I have had to order a separate Large strap at £10 from Amazon, This says it fits up to 44 inch chest so this shows the description is just wrong.
