Great product, powerful and sturdy and looks lovely ! Perfect for home use as well as basic boutique use
Rating : 4 / 5 Reason: Installation by company technician was very bad and had to basically figure how to use it myself Otherwise- a great product, powerful, sturdy and looks lovely ! Perfect for home use as well as boutique use, (but if you have very heavy constant usage its better to go for the iron made ones with stands that are used by local tailors) Body : Sturdy design and a very manageable size . It is lightweight and comes with a collapsible handle on top that makes picking it up and moving it very easy for just about anybody . It also comes with a good quality cover for storage. Its pretty intuitive to use, and even as a novice, I really had no problem figuring out the various parts. The preset stitches are operated with a simple knob and are really easy to use and switch between. It is provided with a storage compartment (that opens up behind the bobbin compartment- below the needle) and they will provide you with a coupe of bobbins and a few other basic accessories so if you have thread at home, you are ready to start stitching right away ! If you are not sure of how to load the thread onto the needle, check out the basic youtube guides for the Janome Dream Stitch, they are easy to follow and very clearly describe the various steps. The electric wiring is sturdy and of good quality and the foot pedal is very sensitive and responds easily. Functionality : You can do three types of straight stitch and six- seven types of zig zag stitching with the Dream Stitch. The stitch pattern is visually depicted around the knob so one has to just turn the knob to the desired pattern of stitch and the machine will automatically shift to that without any other adjustment required. The needles are sturdy and will easily handle materials ranging from fine net / muslin to thick denim as well. It gives you a wide range of flexibility for your creativity. This machine is made for home use predominantly, but it has very good functionality and will in no way limit the kind of things you create. Most of the functionalities are common with other machines, so if you are shifting to the Dream Stitch from a different machine, it should not be a problem. The turning of needles, loading of thread etc all basic features are similar to most other machines and especially other Janome machines. Service: Don't expect USHA to do anything substantial, it seems they have a typical 'lala' attitude of complacency in India. I had to call them for a week before a technician came to orient me. Sadly, the person who came could only speak Kanadda, and no hindi or english so it was kind of pointless as he kept speaking kanadda and I could not understand a word of it ! At the end of it, rather than show us safety features or even basic handling techniques, he just tried to convince us to buy some accessories like oil, extra needles etc at a very high price. We quickly realized that this was becoming pointless and asked him to leave...the great thing is that I was able to watch a few youtube videos and figure out the initial threading and bobbin loading etc so unless you are a newbie like myself, you should be okay. The product is simple and if you know how to load the thread and the bobbin, then its pretty much ready to use , out of the box. If you need some guidance, here are the few basic youtube videos that helped me the most - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-T2-ZFZDQ-Y - How to load the bobbin on the machine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMPx9aF5eg4 - How to fill the bobbin with thread https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mR8m1Dzejuo - Details of hat is in the box when you receive it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfLep31Icz0 - How to thread the machine https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C2U2uaMJa2Q - basic guide by USHA showing the parts of the machine, as well as how to attach new needles etc Do read the user manual as well as its pretty detailed in describing the parts and processes as well. Happy sewing and if this review helped you, do rate me.... It encourages me to write more of them ! :)

Dreaded about the services in future
I'm from Chennai and bought this Usha Janome Dream Stitch Automatic through Amazon from Cloud Tail. Ordered on 3rd Oct'21 and delivered on 06th Oct'21. No issues there. Product was intact and apparently ok. I did not want to work on the machine myself first only to find that something was not ok with it but the company would negate its commitment based on whose fault it originally was. So, I've been following up with USHA call centre for a demo of the machine. They would not lift my call. After about 4 days' continuous trying, they have allotted one person. Now that person would not lift my line. He finally did after 5 days of trying but has been giving commitment after commitment to visit us. He is yet to reach my home. It is 16 days post delivery of the machine. I don't know if I could return the machine. Local Usha phone numbers are not any different. They direct us to "call centre" and advise us against buying it through AMAZON. "Oh! You bought it through Amazon! You should have visited local showroom instead!" This included the service person allotted us. My worry is that if this is the case even before I start using the machine, then what about the other services required from USHA in future? I now have a SINGER electric sewing machine bought during 1995. It still works well. Any minor service requirement, I take it to the local Singer service centre and it works again. That is after 26 years. What would the case be with USHA? No one seems to care here!!! 1. Don't but sewing machines through Amazon 2. Based on my experience, SINGER seems to be a better preference. I don't know about USHA. =================================================================== The company personnel called me and assigned another person for giving the demo. This was done by the company itself, without myself having to remind them. That person visited us and confirmed that everything is okay with the machine delivered to me. Minimum mental comfort! The machine works well and the flow is smooth; comfortable to operate. Good news for other customers too. But my basic concern remains! If this is the case with the initial demo, then what about furure service calls? I will review and share my comments after sometime.
