Expectation Was Met
Great travel guide to help with our trip. No wasted, "food and lodging information" though it covered the subject well.I bought most of the usual travel guides and this was the best.

Leaves Out Opening Times, Admission Costs, Addresses
This is the least useful guidebook I've seen in years. While it mentions key sights, it leaves out practical information such as opening hours, admission costs, and street addresses. Whole towns, like Dodrecht, are left out. And the small type is hard to read. Lonely Planet guides are usually good; this one isn't.

Incomplete
Large portions of the country, notably the entire province of Zeeland, are entirely left out of the book. I didn't buy the guide to Holland/guide to the biggest attractions, I bought the guide to the Netherlands, but that's not what I got.

Excellent presentation of what to see and do in "greater Holland".
I like the general layout and way of presenting the essentials of each prospective place to visit.well organized and useful information.

Not enough history of art information
It's not a bad product, but I find it lacking in history of art information. I would have liked more text and less pictures: this guide book is full of showy pictures and looks a bit like a tourist office brochure. I liked Lonely Planets from 15-20 years ago better.

Great information
Well written, good information - a great aid to a tour of Holland

Disappointing
I usually like Lonely Planet books but this one was a real disappontment. The book is supposedly about the entire Netherlands but most of its focus is on Amsterdam. In our trip, we decided to go to some smaller towns (e.g. Delft, Gouda) and the book gave almost no information about these towns. Some of the most incredible aspects of the town (e.g. antique market, working flour mill) were completely missing from the book.In the era of llms I do not understand the point of this book. We ended up barely using the book during our trip because we couldn't rely on it and a much better source of information was just one Google search away.
