Thor: Ragnarok

Besides being a movie that my pre-teenage son thoroughly enjoys, for me the price of admission is worth it even if only for listening to Led Zeppelin's 'The Immigrant Song', which contains the lyrics "the hammer of the gods/will drive our ships to new lands", appearing twice! Certainly, one of the superior movies from the Marvel Universe!

Disappointed as the main blu-ray disc looks like somebody switched it with a poor quality version. Just look at the image i have provided to see that the art cover on the blu-ray disc looks really faded compared to a normal blu-ray disc, like the blu-ray 3d disc on the right. It didnt play the full movie on my PS3 but was read completely and worked fine on my blu ray player. I dont know why.But the case looks great, is an original steelbook, is undamaged and arrived on time.

All blurey player new firmware software update.. then old blurey player reading normally . otherwise play shown NO DISC.. ERROR... Undoubtedly the best MCU movie yet! The DVD was delivered in perfect condition and it's quality is also great. Enjoyed a lot!! Original product! 3D content is amazing too.....Highly recommended to all Loki lovers (also Thor and the Avengers). ;)

I recieved this product very early and it was just 294(199 for product and 95 for delivery charge.

3D effects are Fluid in motion first-time Film remastering is very appealing No cross talk and No strain on eyes. After long time Good effect movie. Only 3D single disc. Sony should provide 2D version also.

One of the best movies in the MCU series. Quality is superb

Thor Ragnarok manages to triumph in both story delivery and production value, offering one of the most unique, engaging and visually spectacular MCU movies to date, and is a must-have 4K/UHD BR for your collection.Upscaled from a 2K digital intermediate, the 4K/UHD BR of Thor Ragnarok offers a noticeable improvement over its 1080p Blu-Ray counterpart, but isn't top tier on sheer pixel performance. There is enough detail to satisfy, but it doesn't grant that "Holy balls!" factor that a true 4K/UHD scan could offer.However, when the 4K/UHD upscale is combined with the excellent HDR (HDR-10) implementation and delivery, the imagery throughout the movie is pure eye-pleasure. From inky blacks to startlingly blinding cracks of lightning, all the way to deep, numerous shades of reds, oranges and yellows which make up raging fires, the HDR performance makes this movie gorgeous.Where the HDR performance is a raging fire, the audio delivery is more of a smouldering fire.. Although the 4K/UHD BR offers a Dolby Atmos audio certification, Thor Ragnarok lacks that rich low end that good sound systems can deliver, meaning that whilst perfectly adequate for most, audio files might feel unsatisfied when expecting that immensely 'meaty' audio to match the visuals.

Ok I've not watched a lot of 3D but this is the best I have ever seen. The clarity was stunning - I always thought there was some sacrifice made when converting to 3D, but the colours, contrasts and various 3D depths were spectacular. My eyes never strained and there was a whole bunch of "in the box" and "out of the box" stuff going on. A technical marvel.I didn't think this would be my type of film and I'm tiring of all the "me too" super hero films coming out. How wrong I was! A brilliant mash up of heroes, villains, mythology, sci-fi, dark humour and outright laughs. This is no comedy but some of the quips are brilliant. Texas had me giggling like a schoolboy.This is one of those "turn your brain off and let it happen" films and I was engaged for every second. Not only thoroughly entertaining but also a masterclass in how 3D should be done. We can't let this format slip away when it can be this good. I love 4K, but spacial effects are a completely different type of "Wow!". Just look at the VR boom - that's not going to slip away.If you're a Game of Thrones fan you might have moments of deja vu watching this. Nothing overtly ripped off, I just had moments of familiarity - not a bad thing at all. Some of the battle scenes were as epic as any GOT scene, albeit without the nudity and gore.Audio rarely gets a mention - it was really good. Everything from Led Zeppelin to 80s synth, great Dolby 7.1/DTS-HD 7.1 surround sound, voices never drowned out by ridiculously loud background music. I rarely needed to adjust the volume for "good neighbour" purposes. Eye popping COLOR/COLOUR is extraordinary and the 3-d on this disc is the best I have seen on live action home video, better than I saw in theatre. Sound placement is discrete and appropriately separated and placed. There aren't really that many darks, but they seem to have depth, and resolution of the image is detailed. I have a passive 3-d LG big screen television, can't guarantee the same results on flicker 3-d systems.The story is fun with little nuance, and Blanchett inhabits Hela without camp, if walking around with an antler headdress can be anything but camp, she accomplishes it. As the Grandmaster, Jeff Goldblum definitely is CAMP and appropriately so. Chris Hemsworth looses a bit of his staunchness and we see a more human side to the Norse god. This is also true for Idris Elba's Heimdel, who gets to do more than stand guard at the gate.Very minor spoiler alert - we even get a play within the film with Luke Hemsworth playing Thor and Sam Neil as Odin, a fun doppelgänger situation.Don't expect Shakespeare, let go and have a fun ride - worth every star !

Great film. Saw this at the cinema thought it was good. Watched it on Sky again, thought this was brilliant. Watched in on Sky for a third time with my boy, thought I actually think this film is amazing. So finally brought it on blu ray.I think this is really an amazing duo movie and should have been called Thor Vs Hulk. The two characters really do come to there own and it could easily be a film about either. This really puts both of these amazing characters back up to the top of the marvel world. I think both actors were born to play these characters and wish they would make more of Mark Ruffalo in the overall marvel movie franchise. here we also see a new character enter the film franchise in actress Tessa Thompson's film take on Valkyrie I thought she not only made an amazing addition but really added to the humour in quite a few scenes.I would basicly say any marvel fan this is a must. Any sci fi fan this is a must. Anyone looking for a buddy movie give this a try. I haven't even mentioned the scenery, the colours, costumes and cgi.A five star turn. Can't wait to see Thompson and Hemsworth in the new men in black movie

I had to return the item twice. I was never able to see the first one or the replacement. It appears that the distributor's machine used to make the copies had a faulty programming and corrupted my region free 3D player and shut down my 3D flat screen TV. It froze everything and forced me to shut down the whole system quite a few times. I never experienced anything like this before. I received 2 other 3D titles and watched the films with no problem. Sorry but I cannot rate a film I haven't even been able to see yet. Forced to give 1 star so review can be submitted/transmitted.
