Good Overall Buy
It's been about half a year since I ordered the phone and it hasn't noticeably slowed down at all. It did indeed come unlocked which is great. It came in great condition too.The battery is good its pretty similar to my last phone. The camera is amazing both front and back. It can get very very bright while also very very dim. The built-in speaker is so loud and has great quality. Love the UI its a bit different from what I'm used to but its easy to use once I got the hang of it. Overall very happy with my purchase

The Pixel 9 is a good value mid-range phone
I purchased the Pixel 9 in August. I had a Pixel 6A. To tell you the truth I was very happy with that phone. Alas, there were serious battery safety issues with it. Google issued a mandatory update & it severely throttled the battery. After that update the battery wouldn't charge to 100% & would run out of juice only after a few hours. I got a free battery upgrade, but it didn't help much. Anyway, on to the Pixel 9 review. I'm very happy with this phone. There are a few things to be chalked up as a learning curve, but it's very similar to my old 6A. Many people have complained about the black bezel around the perimeter of the screen. I have a case on my phone to protect it . Truthfully, I don't even notice the bezel. It's covered by the case. You probably wouldn't notice it either. There is a Pixel app that gives you a whole bunch of tips on how to maneuver around the phone. It's very helpful. I'm basically am not a fan of all this AI stuff so I turned off as much as I could. Haha, pretty funny & ironic for a me to get a phone that runs pretty much on AI! Lol! I have to say the phone runs great. I feel it's very user friendly. If you have a problem or question about it's operation, you can always Google the question & there's plenty of help out there. Initially, I was leaning towards purchasing the less expensive 9A. However, for some folks there were issues that they experienced with the initial boot up during set-up that wouldn't allow the phone to escape the boot up loop, & unfortunately had to return it. I didn't want that hassle. I kept my eyes open looking for a better price. Luckily I saw this listed for $599 on a special sale & I pulled the trigger & bought it. I'm so happy I did. I'm very happy with this phone so far. To me, it's way faster than my old phone. It has 12 gigs of RAM. I'm not really a gamer. I play Pokémon go on it with no problems at all. The battery size is 4700MAh. It lasts all day & longer depending on usage. I've noticed that the display is a lot brighter. It can go up to 2,700 nits when outside. There are many additional features that are useful. It has a crash detector in case you're in a car accident. It'll notify 911 (if you set that feature up) it's similar to OnStar. Another great feature is that it has the ability for you to contact 911 via satellite. This is useful if you're in an area that has no cell phone reception & experience an emergency. The features keep coming, it has it's own VPN for free. The camera (which is also very nice) there's a lot of neat things, too many to write down. There's editing tools like unblur & more. Overall this is a really good phone. I've had no problems with it. If you need a great mid-range phone, you should really consider purchasing the Pixel 9.

I Think You'll Like It Too
I have been purchasing Brand "M" phones since cellular was invented. But some recent less than stellar experiences with a flimsy foldable model and poor customer service drove me to seek out an alternative. I needed a pure Android experience - because I am so comfortable with that ecosystem, a solid and substantial build, strong phone connectivity and camera performance, robust battery life, and healthy update support; all in a manageable size. After weeks of research I settled on the Pixel 9. So - doesn't look like I'll be going back to "M" anytime soon. I'm still in the learning phase in terms of features and other small nuances after jumping brands, but I really like this phone. It feels substantial in the hand, sends & receives calls without drama, has quick screen response, nice speakers, plenty of battery life, and a clean and satisfying Android operating system. Go ahead and buy it.

Useability issues
My iphone is dying and I ordered this Android smartphone to save money. PROS: This Pixel 9 is very affordable compared to an iphone. It arrived in mint condition and was pretty easy to set up, transferring data from iphone to this one, even if you don’t have a lightning to C cable. The touch screen is very responsive. Overall, all operations ran quickly. However, once I set it up I found it difficult to use. CONS: It takes too many steps to execute daily functions as compared to an iphone, such as answering the phone, texting or email. It does not display Battery % on the home screen. Also, I wasnt expecting to be inundated with adds. It asks to Allow Notifications every time I open an app., even when I previously denied. It takes 2 hands to power off because you have to hold down 2 buttons on the right side, at the same time which I found very awkward to do one handed. The reason I finally decided to return it is, Face Recognition does not work in everyday low lighting, such as watching tv, outside in the evening or any situation without bright lighting. It displays a msg “not enough light”. So setting up apps. with Face ID is pointless on the Pixel 9. If you are already an Android user, this is a lovely phone and you will most likely love it. If you are an iphone user, switching to this Google Pixel 9 may be frustrating, as it was for me. The functional difference between IOS and Android smartphones is significant, which was unexpected. Amazon customer service was excellent, making return process really easy, which I appreciated.

Google pixel 9 phone, you gotta get one of them!!!!
I loved it!!! But I then noticed a small chip on the back camera lens. I called Amazon and they approved me to send the phone back, even though it was out of the return window from when I got the phone. But I have to return it and only then they will issue me a full refund for the price I paid for it. I agreed, but I thought about it the rest of that day and all night because I have severe medical issues and many doctors appointments and need to be able to contact them as well as they need to be able to get in contact with me. So the next day I continplated about sends it back be they said it would probably take about 30 days to receive my refund. I would be out of a phone that entire time, so I 🤙 Amazon back and said that I would keep the phone and cancel the return. They gave me a gift card for the damage, but it wasn't much. Now I have another issue about the phone. The screen keeps turning off as I am using it. I was paying my bills and it would go off and I would have to go back to the beginning and put in my pin so I could use it again. Now what do I do??? I'm back in the same spot I was just like before. I shouldn't have to deal with this especially after I finally got it paid off. A $700 phone shouldn't be doing this. I don't know why Amazon couldn't let me keep the phone until I get my money back, then I could send the phone back to them. And in this meantime, I could decide if I want to get the same phone or look at some other options. Or if my money has been refunded into my bank account, I can still use the problem phone to get a new one from them and they can let me use it while I am waiting for the new phone to be delivered to me. That way I won't miss any phone calls or make calls. Also, I can continue to talk and text my family and answer the texts that my many doctors offices send me to remind me of an upcoming appointment and confirm that appointment. Anyway, that said, I still love the phones and all the things I can do with it. Since it's a Google pixel 9 , Google creates nice things using my videos and photos and does so because they add background music that actually fits perfectly as I am watching my videos and looking at my photos. They even do that with photos and videos that they had stored for me over the years. IT'S GREAT!!! So fellow Amazon customers... don't change your mind if you were thinking about buying one of those phones because it is just a fluke that I got a misfit one. Believe me, you gotta get one of these phones because it has so many things you can do on it and you will love what Google does with your memories. It's AWESOME what they do to make it so much fun to be looking at your photos and watching videos to the background music they add. It's so much fun!!!! You gotta get one of those phones, you won't regret it. Believe me on this.

a powerful pixel 9 phone loaded with Google apps
I bought the Pixel 9. It's a small, powerful phone with a weird bulging Camra/Flashlight area. It only comes with a USB C cable and a pin to remove/add your physical sim card. It does not come with a charger so be prepared to spend an additional amount on Google's 45w wall adaptor. I love that Google used minimal paper packaging. I highly recommend buying a case and screen protector to protect this investment. At the time of this writing this review, I have only played with my phone for about a week runtime. I was disappointed this phone cannot take smooth photos of the night sky stars or even the moon (an enlarged white light source)! However, for all other daytime casual photo taking abilities, this phone impressed me with the speed in which it takes clear, vibrant photos. Taking screenshots of web pages is amazing since it gives me the option to take a long vertical screenshot. The fingerprint unlocking feature isn't reliable, so I don't recommend using it. I am slightly disappointed the AI translation feature only works with videos played on the phone and the words fade out too quickly after it was spoken. Browsing web pages on this phone is superbly faster than my 4-year-old Samsung phone. I am still learning about this phone, or more precisely google apps LOL, but I'm loving it so far. Google Lens' ability to identify items I photograph is 95% accurate. I would recommend this phone to anyone who lives, eats, breathes and enjoys using Google apps.

I love it... But one small ick...
I'm still gonna give the phone 5 stars because I love it. It's the perfect size. Love the weight of it. Easy to set up. The camera is crystal clear and clean. Battery lasts the entire day, I don't walk with my charger. Ordered the green and it came as displayed. I can go on and on.. but let's get into one problem I've found so far... HOWEVER, one thing I've been unable to fix and I have to call Google about is when I'm typing a long email, it disappears under the keyboard and I can't see what I'm typing unless I close the keyboard or use a floating keyboard. This is annoying cuz I'm used to the screen sliding up so I can keep seeing what I'm typing. But it doesn't do that. Minimizing the keyboard doesn't help cuz it's still going to disappear under the keyboard once it reaches it. Then I have to place the floating keyboard at the top of my screen and look DOWN at what I'm typing instead of looking up and I can't type as quickly from the top of the screen cuz it feels weird. I don't want to drop my phone. Turning it sideways, same problem. So trust me, I've tried all I can try. So if someone knows how to fix this, PLEASE TELL ME. Otherwise I'll have to use my Samsung Tab to email and I don't always have it on me. So it would definitely be an inconvenience.

Functional and well constructed
I'm not happy with Google's data collection practices, but they do make a good phone. Fit and finish are excellent, the phone performs well in a wide variety of situations, and it appears to be very well constructed. Compared to the outrageous prices of iPhones, and the goofy proprietary user interface of Samsungs it's a far better value with no loss in quality or usability. If you just want a very good phone, and don't need to be trying to demonstrate your elite status or flaunt your wealth, Pixels should be your go-to choice.
