Really good high speed USB4 cable. I'm using it with an older external SSD that kept randomly disconnecting from my older MacBook Pro and it's been absolutely solid since.

I bought this Cable Matters USB4 cable to replace a shorter Thunderbolt lead in a desk setup that handles charging, external storage, and high resolution display output through a single connection. Physically, the cable feels reassuringly substantial, with thick insulation and well finished USB C ends that seat firmly without wobble. At two metres it strikes a good balance between reach and signal integrity, and it does not feel fragile despite supporting very high power delivery.In daily use it has performed exactly as intended. Laptop charging is stable even under sustained load, data transfers to fast SSDs are noticeably quicker than with standard USB C cables, and driving high resolution displays through a dock has been reliable. The main compromise is flexibility, as the cable is stiffer and bulkier than typical charging leads, which makes tight cable management slightly awkward. I have also found that compatibility can depend on the device rather than the cable itself. Overall, it is a well engineered, future proof cable that offers excellent value if you actually need USB4 performance.

Just great, working super

Seems good quality, very sturdy. Charges my phone much faster than my old usb-c cable and data transfer from pc to phone is much quicker too. For the price, I thinks its a really good deal.

Cable matters cables are usually very good, however I have had two of these cables and within a few weeks both of them started disconnecting with the slightest movement, which corrupted my external OWC 1M2 SSD. Thank goodness I had an up-to-date backup. I have now bought a quality Intel certified OWC Thunderbolt 5 cable at nearly four times the price, but you can't put a price on data integrity. I'm not going to risk getting this Cable Matters cable replaced as it is way too risky.

This is the real deal. If you need super fast charging, this cable does the job. Reassuringly thick for fast and stable connection.

This 2-metre cable works exactly as needed. It connects seamlessly, provides the full refresh rate and resolution required for my monitor, and charges my laptop at the same time without any issues. Solid build and performance. No complaints.

Brands like "monster cable" overcharged uneducated people to a disgusting degree, while the rest of us laughed and bought the cheapest possible cables which performed identically....well, those simple days are gone now. With the advent of 2K/4K/8K, not every HDMI cable is the same anymore. And with data transfer speeds evolving so quickly, USB-C cables have become one of the most confusing tech items for consumers to buy. So before buying a premium cable like this, ask yourself:-Do you actually need USB4 data transfer speeds (40 Gbps)? Like, are you frequently using an external SSD with USB4 capability? If not, you probably don't need this.-Do you only need this cable for something like a USB-C monitor? Look for an uncertified USB4 cable capable of 20 Gbps, or depending on the monitor you may only need USB-C 3.0. It will be cheaper than this cable.With that being said, if you actually do need the crazy speed of a cable like this, then spare yourself the time and frustration of cheaper brands. After much trial and error with many different cables, docks, hubs, etc; I have decided the Cable Matters brand is what I'll be looking for from now on when I *actually* need a super high-speed cable. They don't lie about their claims. If it isn't a certified cable, they will say that in the description and give you real speeds. This cable does what it claims: it transfers data at 40Gbps. That's what I needed for my case, and it's been working flawlessly for many months now. No negatives here.
