Very satisfied! Love the adjustable speeds
I originally ordered the AGC2s, but at over a pound it was too heavy for me to use comfortably and returned it. This SMS razor is 12.5 oz, and while not lightweight, it's light enough to hold for a while without fatigue and to manuveur easily.Pros:Fairly light for this type of quality razorVarying speeds is an excellent feature! Lower speeds prevent razor from getting too hot and cuts easily through long (well combed) hair, high speed provides a nicer finish.Removable blades are easy to change, they slide on and snap in placeVery long cord (this is also a con)Fairly quietNon-slip grip is comfortable and helpful (I've dropped several razors, so I especially appreciate this)Fits all the blades and combs that I already ownIncludes oil for bladesCons:VibratesNot as quiet as the cheap, cordless razor I bought for touch-ups, but this razor is faster and higher qualityDoesn't come with combs or carrying caseMedium speed has a high pitched whine - lower speeds are quieter and higher speeds are noisy and the whine either goes away or is drowned outVery long cord adds weightPicture - I used this razor with a 3/4" blade on my dog's back, sides and underbelly. I scissored the rest of him. It's not perfect, but I'm not a groomer.

His coat is very thick and has very fine down coat
Finally!!!!!!I have a very big muscular Golden Retriever. His coat is very thick and has very fine down coat. I shave him 3 times during the summer and have been having hell trying to find a clipper that won't break or stall when clipping him.Went to Petsmart and bought the biggest, baddest, and most expensive clippers they had. Nope, they couldn't cut his coat. Returned them and went to Tractor Supply and got a set of horse clippers. I struggled with them for one year till they gave out. Difficult to cut his coat. Then I went on Anazon and bought an Oster set of clippers (heavy duty). Good reviews. Didn't cut his coat. I'm in the process of returning them to Amazon. I'm also going to give them a bad review. Now with my boy with 1/3 of his coat trimmed, I ordered these with 'skip tooth' blades (4 & 5).It cut his thick coat like a hot knife through butter. Very happy and satisfied. I just finished clipping my Golden 30 minutes ago. These are amazing and I have been looking for a good set of pet clippers for over 3 years. I have found them!!!!!!You will not be disappointed.

Amazing clipper - worth every penny
I have a mini Schnauzer and have been grooming him myself as he hates to go to the groomer and the savings is substantial. I have used several different clippers including a two speed Oster Turbo A5 and a Wahl. All clipper blades heat up rather quickly and the faster the clipper speed (strokes per minute) the quicker the blades heat up. There seems to be a speed competition between the clipper manufacturers with each one introducing an even higher clipper speed. I, like most people assumed that you needed to have these higher speeds because more is better - right? No knowing which way to go I decided to buy this Andis clipper as it was highly recommended in reviews and was capable of any speed so I didn't have to guess which speed would be ideal for my needs. What I discovered is that the slowest speeds with a clean, sharp blade work best most of the time because the blade stays cooler longer. Now there are times when the dog has matted areas that are easier to clip using high speed and this Andis can do that too. This Andis clipper has a very powerful motor which does not slow down or labor under load at any speed. Changing speed is entirely electronic - you just push a button and that's it. Also, to keep the weight and size down, Andis put the power supply at the plug making this easier to handle and cooler to run as the heat of the voltage regulator circuit is at the plug, not in the clipper. The clipper is very quiet especially at low speed which is great as my pup is less frightened and therefore easier to work with.A few pointers might be helpful for anyone grooming their animal with an electric clipper. Keep the blades clean and oiled. I use a can of compressed air to blow off the excess clipper oil and a fine brush to clean the blade. Spray lubricants don't work well as they have alcohol which dry out the blades and sometimes irritate your dog's sensitive skin. Use a good clipper oil and wipe or blow off (I do it over the garbage pail) the excess oil - you only need a little so don't saturate the blade as it only makes the fur stick to it that much quicker. I use two #10 blades and alternate them so one is cooling while I use the other. I also use an Ace Reusable Cold Compress, Large to cool the blades quicker by placing them on the pack when their not in use. I have not found the ceramic blades to be noticeably cooler in normal use. A good, high quality blade such as the Geib Buttercut Stainless Steel Dog Clipper Blade, Size-10, 1/16-Inch Cut Length is an excellent choice for a smooth, line free cut. Also, buy a good pair of grooming shears as they are necessary to do the fine work a clipper can't.To conclude, I have had the clipper for many months now and am very happy with it. All clippers get hot eventually and all clipper blades can get very hot, so do not burn your pet with a hot blade, test it on your hand periodically and if your pet is protesting more than usual - check the blade. Keep them clean, oiled and cool them when necessary. If you are calm and confident your pet will be calmer and easier to manage. I do my pets grooming on my counter so I can stand up rather than on the floor but I never leave him unattended and take him down when I have to step away or when I want him to shake off the excess fur. I no longer dread grooming my best friend and with the proper tools for the job and calm demeanor I now actually enjoy it. You won't go wrong with this clipper.
