Odd design choices and cheap materials - serves the purpose, I guess.
I ordered two of these to replace one vintage cabinet that was plumb full. They arrived quickly in rather beat up boxes, but everything inside was packed well enough with an abundance of styrofoam that nothing (thankfully) was damaged. It took about 4-5 hours for my wife and I to build each cabinet together - total around 8-10 hours. The materials are about as you'd expect - 1/4inch particle board. If you've built furniture with this thin, cheap material before, you know what to expect. Building the shelves themselves (pre-door installation) is pretty straight-forward like a book shelf (in a sense) would typically be - no major hidden roadblocks here. The cabinets themselves are sturdy and will serve the purpose that I bought them for - which is to house some of my game collection and such.I'd say I have 2 major qualms with these units:1) It isn't lit in the top shelf. Yes, this is known if you read the description and see the accurate pictures (of which, the first picture in the post is not). While this may be known, it's also a very odd design choice. I'd much rather have the top shelf be lit and the bottom shelf (the last shelf above the solid doors) be dark. Usually the things on the top shelf are most prominently displayed, so to omit the lighting from the top shelf is rather baffling to me.2) Getting the doors level all the way across is a pain in the rear! The door installation process is very misguided. I lined my door hinges up with the pre-manufactured holes and they STILL wouldn't level out very well. And if you loosen the screws a little bit to allow for some play in moving the door up and down, that causes the holes to become too loose, so screwing them back in (even without having taken them all the way out), the holes are now too loose to really hold the door well and STILL it isn't very level even after a bunch of finagling (and using an actual level...). There HAS to be a better system to properly mounting these doors to that they line up well with each other and without any gaps along the sides. The doors are glass on a metal frame, which I feel is too heavy for the cheap particle board material that is expected to hold so much weight.I don't know much at all about the curio cabinet market - whether these would be considered good over any of the other available options or not. I also paid $250 each for these - which again, I don't know if that's a good price or if that's too much for the level of quality, but I probably wouldn't buy another one. If I was using them just as lit shelves without the doors - then there's a case that can be made in that regard, but I wouldn't purchase this same unit due to the door situation, if my intention was to have things protected by doors like this.As for the top shelf not being lit, I can find a good LED strip for the top shelf and I can see past that very odd design choice. Don't fall for the first picture in the sale listing/posting - it's not a fully-lit unit.

Poor quality
Not sure what I expected at this price point, but quality is certainly poor overall. Doors don’t perfectly align and don’t close completely. Also, even for an opened and unused box (I bought two initially and only built one) you have to pay for the return shipping which is very expensive. Definitely do not recommend.

Nice lighted display cabinet!!
I was really impressed with how quickly these cabinets arrived and how well they were packaged. They were quick to build and fairly easy to move. They look great once they're put together and really bring a space together. The doors are also really easy to put on and take off. I'd highly recommend them.
