this was the perfect gift for my son, DIL and new baby. It will bring hours of enjoyment and last for many years! Already this year it was great for 'tummy time', and our granddaughter was enthralled!

I got this train set for my 4 year old grandson and he loves it. The train works well and the sound effects and steam is great! The reason for 4 stars is that they provide train track designs with instructions, however, there are not enough tracks to complete half of the designs which is frustrating. I don’t see where you can purchase additional track either. Overall. I would recommend just be prepared not to be able to set up up some of the more interesting configurations.

The train itself is super cute and my son LOVES IT… we have had it for 4 months and the power was broken within a week… my husband is usually good at fixing those types of things but even he couldn’t get it to run anymore. It does not stay on the track, my son was really upset about that for a while but then he was okay just playing with it on the floor. The connection pieces between the cars broke fairly quickly but we just used zip ties to keep them together.. The small wheels fall off once in a while which isn’t a huge deal since they give you a few extra.. but now we have a wheel from the engine that fell off and no replacement. All of this and even though my son is a toddler, he hasn’t thrown it or played very rough with it at all, this is all just from daily play. Overall it’s a cute train but I wouldn’t purchase again

Bought this to go around our Christmas tree, and it works perfectly for that purpose. Easy to put together and use, and good value for the price. My granddaughter loves the smoke feature. My one regret with the purchase is that when it's on, it's all on. That means there are always the train noises and they're fairly robust, so it gets to you after a while, especially if you have some little ones in the house that want to watch the train go around but there are some adults who want to have a conversation. My one regret is that I didn't spend a little more and get a train where I could turn the sound off but leave everything else on.
