Can you use this to wash your hair?

You can make a shampoo by mixing it with distilled water and extra virgin olive oil. I use about 1/2 cup soap, 1/4 cup water, and a tablespoon of oil. After washing your hair will feel a little oily, but dries nicely. My hair is the most manageable it has ever been.

Has anyone ever tried this on their plants as an insect repellent? Does it work?

Does the hemp tea tree pure castile soap lather, if so, what makes it lather?

yes, the castile soap lathers. All soap has to have and oil in it. Traditionally made soap whether bar or liquid has animal fats, Castile soap is made with a plant based oil. In the case of Dr. Bronner's castile soap, they make their soap with coconut oil, which causes the soap to have a wonderful lather. Hope this answers your questions.
