Probably the most impressive flashlight ever created
I love Olights flashlights. This is now my 5th Olight and I keep buying more. I've had Surefire and other supposed quality brands, but the Olight is better quality and packs in way more features. I was pretty critical of the X7R Marauder flashlight, but I think I had good reasons. Even though the X9R has some of the same issues, they are important with this flashlight. I'll try to explain why. You're really not prepared for the size of this flashlight. It is massive. Unbelievably so! Still, it's well balanced and fairly easy to hold. You wouldn't want to carry it for an hour, but you probably could if you have the hand strength. It stands up super easily on the tail cap and actually manages not to feel too top heavy. The button is easily accessible and the display is fabulous. This was one of my big complaints about the X7R. It was their previous flagship flashlight, but there was no power display or battery level indicator. The color of the light is about the same as X7R. I complained a lot about the X7R having a very green/yellow tint to the light. The X9R has the same coloration, but you're not going to use this for close work. That's the difference. You want accurate white light out of the X7R because it's still small enough that you could use it for jobs where accurate color is important. The X9R is a light cannon. You're not using this indoors. It doesn't matter if the rock formation 200 yards away has a greenish tint.As far as light output goes, hopefully you realize that most of the high-output flashlights on Amazon are a laughable joke. That's not true of Olight. When they say 25,000 lumens, I have no reason to doubt it. This thing is the real deal. No one outside of search and rescue needs a flashlight this bright. I never claimed to need a light this bright, but damn it sure is fun. I'm sure Olight will come out with a 50k light in a few years and I'll probably buy that too, but you must realize that you can't possibly use turbo mode in the real world.Battery life is very good and I love the fact that it is removeable. That was another complaint I had about the X7R. You could certainly buy a spare X9R battery, for $200+. That only makes sense if you're in search and rescue though. I do love the fact that I can still use turbo mode even when I'm down a bar on the battery meter. The charge port seems well constructed and durable. It's also covered with a well-made rubber plug.As far as intangibles, it comes with a strap, but you would probably want a nicer padded strap if you carried this around for hours. The case is very nice, but absolutely huge. I really think the case is too large for the flashlight. There's a lot of empty space in it and they could have made a hard case for transporting the light less than half this size. I have no intention of ever using the case to transport it. I am thankful for the case, however, because I ordered some new foam to turn it into a handgun case.No one will ever "need" a flashlight like this, but it's nice to know that it exists. This is the hypercar of flashlights. It's far too powerful to ever use on a daily basis, but that's what makes it so much fun to own.

Largest Flashlight I Own
Do you like a man size flashlight for a mans meaty mitt? Do you also enjoy pretending you’re the sun during dark nights? Do you get cold during the winter and need a quick heat source? Do I have the flashlight for you. Featuring the meatiest battery pack i’ve ever seen in my life, with the potential voltage and amperage combo to cold start a dodge underwater. The large housing brings enough beef to challenge a brown bear and intimidate would be assailants. It has a convenient battery meter which is nice. It does not work at full brightness once the battery gets below about 3/4-ish, but not-full-brightness is still quite luminescent. It comes with a handy-dandy element proof case with a pressure release valve for when you have to go through tsa checkpoints. It’s not overly heavy in my opinion. I can comfortably tote it one-handed. My hand doesn’t wrap around it but it’s not far from it. It has a contoured grip which makes it slip resistant. It comes with a rubber, no-roll ring, but i’m not interested in ruining the sleek look with a piece of rubber. The auto-dimming feature is handy. It’s surprising how many people hold it up to their hand or otherwise. The locking feature is also dandy for would-be idle hands.Overall I like it a lot, it’s not really something you need unless you’re performing, say, a water rescue at night. Or observing from a helicopter. It’s bulky but not unmanageable. For hunting i’d say it’s not useful until you need to track down your downed target. Using it at a low power is brighter than most lights and the huge battery should well outlast them.As far as protecting yourself, the large lens size and high brightness would most likely obscure you from someone meaning you ill-will at a decent distance. Plus, who wants to attempt something against someone wielding the mother of flashlights.Regardless, I like it. :)

This is the best & only flashlight you will EVER need...it's utterly AMAZING! Lights up the entire woods at night (for safely letting out the pups)...now I can see any possible crazy hidden creatures just waiting for their chance to pounce (coyotes...fisher cats...etc...yikes!)...The Marauder 25000 Lumen...SUCH A BRIGHT IDEA!!!

Yo! This is a beast!
I also have the Imalent MS18, and while that one is also cool, and no slouch at all, I love this olight more. Super solid build. The case it's packed in is handy, too.

If you're looking for a long throw, this isn't your light
I also own an Olight SR90 Intimidator that I bought about over 8 years ago. It died on me recently (actually, the battery pack died, and Olight no longer carries replacements), so I thought their newest top of the line would be a monster. Well, it does have an incredible beam...it's just that it's a solid wall with no beam throw at all. If you are looking for a pencil beam with a long throw, get an Acebeam. If brightness is all you care about, then it's a 5 star beast. The photo shows how wide and bright the beam is.

Crazy flashlight
Ridiculous flashlight. My wife won’t stop giving me crap for it because it’s so unnecessary. But I don’t care. I love it. It’s over the top but amazing quality, and is BRIGHT!!

Not worth $600
Not worth $600. Have two other good flashlights that cost less than half that and provide close to equal light. Olight might be slightly brighter for three minutes, but only slightly, not twice as bright. Plus Olight shifts down to 9600 Lumen after three minutes to keep from overheating. Technically, is very good, quality seams equally sound (just had it for a week), but all I was looking for was penetrating light that wasn’t defective Chinese junk(had those also).
