Bethesda Doom Eternal (PS4)

Played DOOM 2016 on PC and loved it. Played DOOM Eternal on PC and found it very unenjoyable and nothing like the earlier title which was disappointing.However, playing this on console, I really like it. Eternal is a fresh approach, with new style/design and tweaked gameplay. I don't think it plays well on PC but rather it plays much more naturally on the PS4.Super fun game with loads of challenge and endless hordes of Hell to battle.As I have a PS5, I automatically get the PS5 upgrade for the game which is a nice touch.

I absolutely love the modern doom titles and had to pick this up when it was on sale recently.The ps5 upgrade makes it look even better with a raytracing mode making reflections in game that little more realistic.Fantastic game for the money.

Just as enjoyable as the first game, with more an emphasis on tactical play / pacing & platforming this time around.Despite my enjoyment, it's easy to see and understand how the changes could upset some people given expectations set by the original.It has a masterclass of a soundtrack and fantastic level design, crazy, fast action and although I don't care much for the narrative, I can appreciate that it exists.I'd definitely check out some proper reviews first, chainsaw and platforming mechanics didn't go over too well with a decent chunk of people so, being well informed on that will help immensely.I've docked a point due to this causing issues with my PS4 Pro though. Despite regular maintenance and cleaning, Eternal seems to push the system to it's limit on the main menu, forcing my system to overheat & shutdown on a few occasions.It could be an isolated issue and I haven't been able to identify the problem, but still thought it best to share. Either way, great game.

Delivered with the case smashed and not even sealed

Ordered this on the PS4 , arrived next day early and popped the disc into the PS5, nice little box on the right of the screen offering a free PS5 Upgrade !Ray tracing at 60fps or balanced at 60fps, I chose RT and on my LG 55in 4k tv the game looks and plays superbly with the added bonus of audio also coming from the PS5 controller, adaptive triggers and vibrations ....fast action and great heavy metal sound track, what is not to like ?If you've got a PS5 and love DOOM get this NOW ! It's awesome !

The game is a great update to the 2016 reboot. The idea of refilling health with glory kills, armour with flame thrower and ammo via chainsaw then the sword and bfg makes you always thinking what bar to tend to plus which weapon to use as different enemies are easier to kill with different weapon. The last couple of boss fights are so basic though same old big bad that we saw before a million times but the over all game is so worth it.

It's not my miy kind of game,but it looked great and grandsons loved it.

Es un gran juego para la Estación de Juegos 4, no lo pude terminar por falta de tiempo, pero lo que he jugado es bestial. Lo único malo es que solo he podido conseguir esta versión que es la uk y eso sí que es una condena. Aunque podría ser peor y comprar la versión alemana eso sí que sería una condena eterna, estoy seguro que por ahí no pasa ni el marino del juego.

This game is fantastic. The difficulty can vary widely, forcing you to learn how to become a better player. Weapon modifications, glory kills, secrets, and vastly changing difficulty levels keep you coming back.I nearly got disheartened when I came to a couple points I just couldn't beat, even on only the 2nd difficulty setting. Ive been playing fps games since Duke Nukem 3D, and I'm accustomed to using a mouse and keyboard, so this is definitely challenging; however, it does make you a much better gamepad FPS player.Pro tip: keep moving. When you're having a hard time, try running a path and just destroying whatever appears in front of you. If you stop for too long, you're dead. Use the dash manuever to escape if you get mobbed. It reminded me of the COD Zombies game strategy - get them to chase you, destroy the ones in your path, periodically turn around to launch a few grenades at your entourage, and you'll find you do a lot better than trying to find safety. There are no safe spaces in Doom Eternal! :DDemons take actual damage as you go through battle. If you're facing overwhelming odds, don't try to kill them all at once. Do some damage then run! Chainsaw a few easy demons to restock your ammo, then get back into the fight. There are definitely fights too big to handle all at once. Do some damage, run, do more damage... rip and tear until it is done! This game is awesome.
