Great overall knife
Whoever designed this knife deserves an award. Blade so far has been holding its edge after some batoning and feather stick making.Pros:1) Very thick full tang, but light for its size.2) Spine of knife is sharp enough to throw sparks from a Ferro rod.3) Finger groove behind blade is perfect for finer bushcraft work. Just wish it was rounded on the edges so as to possibly not cut into skin after extended use. Light filing down will fix that though.4) Handle is extremely comfortable when using.5) Holes in the rear of the blade side, design of the handle, and holes in butt of tang can easy turn this into an extremely secure spear.Cons:1)Says U.S.A on handle, but is made in China.2) Sheathe is cheap. Pouch on side will only hold a very small ferro rod and is too high on the sheathe. Should’ve been put towards the bottom and made larger so you could fit a decent ferro rod or sharpening stone in it.3) Says DC53 steel but no way to check, and what I feel is deception by putting U.S.A on the knife causes me to doubt everything else.I have used it though and it has held up great.Overall it’s a great knife so far. Only wish they didn’t deceive by putting U.S.A on the knife.

I like this a lot
This knife is awesome, I will definitely buy more from BA-KOR. No, I did not get paid to say that. All that being said, I have to be honest, the sheath is not great. If you can ignore that or plan on making your own or buying a different sheath, I really think this is a solid knife. The sheath gets 3 stars, the knife gets 7 stars.

Not to bad
So I just got this knife today. It does have a good edge. I beat it against my vice to check held up pretty good no deflection no rolling. The handle is a bit weird but it does work. The sheath is why I’m only giving it four stars. It’s cheap leather cheaply made, and the Ferris rod is very difficult to get in the pouch. But if you are looking for a good heavy duty knife this might be the one for you.

Beef little knife
A really good knife design. Feels good in the hand and seems balance. Wood handle is surprisingly comfortable. Build quality is also a little rough in certain areas like the drill holes. Sheath is serviceable even though it does not seem to be real leather. Would give this knife a 4/5 if edge bevel wasn’t done so horribly. Throughout my years of buying knife I don’t think I seen one done as bad as the knife I received. Had to spend 2 hours to fix it with a diamond stone. Overall decent knife at $40 if you get an even bevel edge.

This knife is ready for the wilds.
I have a knife issue. The issue is that I’m running out of space for my collection. But I’m glad I ordered this one.The knife is pretty unique it has a nice shape, its blade is 5mm+ at its spine and through the tang. The finishing is a bit “rugged” not bad but no mirror polishing here. Instead the intentionally left the machine marking and left the handle a little rough making for a nice but tough look. The result is a knife you should be able to use and abuse (to a point of course) and not worry about scuffing the finish. It comes with a decent edge. I have no way of testing the hardness or metal composition. It claims to be DC53 steel but claims a hardness of only 57-62 vs the normal 62-64 for DC53 steel. Could this be intentional and done during the hardening and tempering? Not sure. I’ve chopped on, and split a few small limbs, and the blade seems no worse for wear. With proper maintenance it should outlast you.The claimed steel has some inherent corrosion resistance, but not much. Make sure to oil the blade, or apply some sort of protectant to avoid rust.Honing to a super fine edge, while possible, is not recommended. This is a work knife, not a filet knife, and this steel can be prone to rolling at the edge if abused. Keep it sharp but don’t go crazy. I didn’t notice this on my knife. The knife was fairly quick to take a touch up on my ceramic sticks so not super hard to sharpen.Others have been less than impressed with the sheath, but given the price range and the actual knife I would say it is at the very least adequate to good. The leather is of a decent thickness and it appears to be real leather. The stitching is not the greatest on the little (and I mean TINY) pouch that is supposed to hold the fero-rod. The pouch will need some serious, but gentle stretching to ever hope to fit the rod and scraping tool in there. The straps a rivets on mine are well done and secure. It fits the knife well and securely. The fero-rod and scraper are a nice extra and work well.Overall in this price range you’ll be hard pressed to find a better value and more rugged knife. The actual steel used is questionable, but very serviceable in any case. The sheath will hold the knife securely and looks good. If this look and style fits you grab one. A plastic handle with a matching tactical holster would look good as well. This one is going in my go bag.
