GuliKit TMR Joysticks Replacement for DualSense PS5 / PS5 Edge Controller

Work perfectly and not too terrible to install. I picked up a cheap solder kit and brush and was able to knock this out in an afternoon. It definitely took some time and a lot of YouTube videos, but once I got the hang of it these worked out perfectly. Have been using daily for months now and no stick drift. Literal savior for my otherwise unusable scuf

My PS5 controller has been with me for what feels like forever. Dark Souls 3, Elden Ring, FFXIV, Atelier Ryza, Khazan, WuWa, PoE and the list goes on. These days, unless it's a shooter like Helldivers, I hardly ever use mouse and keyboard for gaming. Unfortunately, for the last year or so, it's been getting stick drift. What I normally do is I hit it with some isopropyl alcohol spin it around a bunch, but this only works for so long and then the stick drift comes back. I did some research and these seemed promising, and I'm really glad I gave it a go because these feel great. The installation process wasn't too bad either. I already owned a soldering kit, flux, and a heat gun so extra costs there either. The heat gun was the MVP since I used it to desolder the existing joystick and pop the other one in (after using flux and adding some of my own solder to lower the required temp). Only gotcha I ran into is one of the joysticks was just oh so slightly crooked since it wasn't perfectly flush with the board when I installed it. Had to hit it with the heat gun, applied some pressure, and it's all good now. After calibration, I was shocked by how much lower the average error was in comparison to my default sticks. Maybe I just got a lucky batch? I don't have much time with these joysticks, but I'm hoping they last and nothing goes haywire. If anything goes wrong, I'll update this post, but for now... no news is good news. For anyone else purchasing this product, good luck with the soldering process and I hope you find these joysticks just as good as I claim. Gamers unite! :D

amazing joysticks. if you have a ps4/5 controller and have drift, these will fix them right up. the trickiest part of the whole diy part was getting the board ready for these new sticks, actually soldering these sticks on were a breeze. they seem durable, but only time will tell. considering that you never have to worry about drift again, i would consider these great bang for buck. note: when you convert your ps4/5 controller into TMR, you need to recalibrate them using the online tool. look up a start to finish tutorial online and it should show you how.

I bought a 2-pc set of these to install in a PS5 joystick that developed the dreaded "drift" problem. This also meant I spent time learning a new skill, soldering, so that I could do the work of swapping out the old bad joysticks with these new ones. A few weeks of practice on several beginner level soldering kits, along with one painful lesson on just how hot 400 deg Celsius (about 750 deg Fahrenheit) is when you clumsily graze your finger with the soldering iron, and I went to work on my PS5 controller. For me, and I think just about everybody else that I saw on YouTube, the hardest part was (1) getting the PS5 shell open, (2) de-soldering the old joysticks (I only had manual solder pump and wicking wire) to be able to remove them, and (3) being careful not to melt any adjacent cable connecters with the soldering iron because it can get a little tight to maneuver in there. But after managing all of that, soldering in these Gulikit joysticks, getting the controller back together, and using online tool to calibrate them I was all done. With my inexperience it took about 4 total hours, with the de-soldering step really taking up about half that. I've used the controller for about a month now and it's been great. The joysticks move very smoothly and I am able to move my character with really good precision. The only thing I noticed is that they don't have the same resistance as the original joysticks. What I mean is with the original joystick (made by Alps) when you start to move it, in that first 1/4" distance you can feel a little more resistance that then fades away as to continue to move the joystick farther out to the edge...hopefully I'm getting that across well enough to understand. With these Gulikit joysticks that little resistance is not there...but that's not really a knock against them, just an observation. The only knock against these, and the reason for the 4-star rating instead of 5-star, are the included thumb sticks and rubber joystick caps. In my opinion, the thumb sticks don't have as good a grippy texture as the original thumb sticks, but the included rubber joystick caps are definitely more grippy, but I just don't quite care for the star pattern design on them. But I play with them anyway and they are great...just not great to look at in my opinion. Maybe in the future they could offer some color and pattern options for the rubber caps??? An option for you if you feel the same is to simply not install the included thumb sticks, and instead just reinstall the original thumb sticks on top of the Gulikit joysticks. Now, whether these will stay calibrated and never fail or develop "drift" in the future remains to be seen. They use magnets so technically speaking they never should but only time will tell.

These worked fine. Installation was easy. A lot of people recommend having soldering experience. The soldering isn’t the problem. I recommend having DE-soldering experience. That’s definitely the hard part. Especially with components that have multiple pins and even worse, multiple pins on different sides of the component like these joysticks do. Compounded by double layer PCB’s because you have to remove the solder from the joint AND all the way through the hole to release the pin from the board. So how do you do that or how do you heat the solder on 8-10 pins at the same time to remove the component? That’s the challenge. I can tell you how I did it, but I don’t recommend it because it’s risky and you can very easily damage the PCB beyond repair. I think I saw some tools that allow you to heat all of the pins at once. That would make this a simple job if you can find and afford one of those and I’d consider looking into it if I have to do this again. Otherwise you can risk it and do what I did which was to cut the pins between the component and the PCB with a dremel. That way you can desolder and remove one pin at a time. But one slip and touch the board with the Dremel blade and you can, and probably will ruin the PCB. I’m not sure if you can buy a replacement PCB but swapping that would really suck and at that point I think it would be better to scrap the repair and just buy a new controller.

Dont buy these unless you want a poorly functioning controller. Way way way worse than any stick drift you already might have. Dont waste your money.

Absolutely worth it. Quality is awesome. Been 2 years strong with over 1000hrs of use still going strong. Installation I highly recommend having someone with good solder skills to do this and not recommended for rookies. Myself also repairing controllers and other smart devices for a living see what unskilled users do and absolutely butcher controller boards before they know they completely broke it. If you are not familiar with soldering especially when dealing with High temp solder, don’t attempt this.

Los he instalado en un DualSense de 1ª generacióm y después de calibrarlos, funcionan perfecto. Són muy precisos, suaves y tienen una circularidad impresionante (lo puedes comprobar en la foto). Són muchísimo mejores que los originales. Pero se tienen que calibrar, eso sí; pero es muy fácil si sigues las instrucciones. Lo único es que cuesta un poco dessoldar los originales y si no tienes las herramientas adecuadas (hierro de soldar, bomba de solda, etc.), o bien las compras y te van a servir en el futuro para hacer este tipo de reparaciones, o los llevas a una tienda de reparaciones electronicas y te los instalan. Pero eso no tiene nada que ver con la calidad de estos modulos, que són muy buenos.

Valen la pena cada centavo aunque me toco pagar envío no te arrepentirás de nada, no es nada sencillo quitar todo el estaño con el que viene de fabrica el dualsense pero con cuidado y paciencia habrá valido la pena al final del día, lo mejor es que tienen un software online para la calibracion automática pfff me llegaron ayer y hoy ya están instalados a penas pude jugar una partida de kof 2002 y pff los combos me salen de poca mother jajajaja que buen producto sin duda comprare otro par para mi control mas nuevo jajaja nunca escribí reseñas estoy muy feliz que vine a felicitarlos
