An excellent and highly detailed guide to a great part of the world. It's especially useful in that it includes France as well.

This book contains quite a bit of useful information, but omits important details and contains staggering factual errors.When we arrived in Bilbao on the evening 21 December 2016, the city was in the middle of a massive celebration. Roads were blocked, and had we hired a car at the airport as we originally intended, we would not have been able to reach the area of our hotel. In the hotel we learned that this was the festival of San Tomas. There is no mention of this major celebration in the book.There is no warning in the book about the fact that on Christmas and New Year's Day Spain is completely shut. The visiting tourist might be interested to know for example that in San Sebastian - which promotes itself as a Christmas tourist destination - not a single restaurant is open on Christmas Eve.It is not often that one can learn new things about the history of the universe from a travel guide, but this one is unique: it claims that 150 thousand million (i.e., 150 billion) years ago the Iberian peninsula collided with the rest of Europe to create the Pyrenees. This is more than 10 times the current estimate of the age of the universe!The book also rewrites American history, claiming that John Adams, the second president of the U.S., succeeded Abraham Lincoln. The first president was George Washington. Lincoln became president long after both Washington and Adams were dead.I am not sure about other errors in the book - I lost my confidence in it at an early stage - but it is clear that it is in need of serious revision.
