Great on-the-go rig
Twelve ounces, one piece ready-to-play rig. Over four hours of continuous playing time; if you set it to go into standby after 5 minutes idle, a charge can last all day with intermittent playing. The models are comparable to other lower-end devices: they’re good enough for live sound; good enough for recording. A smartphone is a must-have companion for the Prime S1. The app works fine on my iPhone. There’s apparently a Windows/Mac “Prime Studio” app that allows one to load IRs onto the S1. I was unable to download that installer from the support site.

Good Sounding Unit with a Few Bugs
The Mooer S1 has plenty of good sounding effects once learn how it functions. It isn't hard to use. It just takes some time to become familiar with the functions. With this being said, I think Mooer may have rushed out a little too soon. I'm a fan of Mooer pedals, but the included instructions don't tell you a lot. Basically, just the connections. There aren't any online tutorials at this point, and Mooer's website directs you to a video for the P1. I think this will change as time passes. I had issues with the first unit I received. No output. I requested a replacement from Amazon and the second unit is fine. Two things could have happened. 1.) The unit was defective, or more likely 2.) Updating the firmware bricked it. When you first establish communication between the unit and the Prime app, it will ask you if you if you would like to update the firmware. You have two options. "Cancel" or "Done". If you select "Done", the update will begin. I suggest selecting "Cancel" until Mooer gets the bugs are worked out. Once you do this, you should be free to explore the functions. The S1 is mostly controlled by the app. The device itself, other than housing the brains, is primarily a four button selector with a digital readout identifying which program is active. I'm sure it can do much more, but I'm going to have to wait for some videos to come out to explore everything it can do. I find the app to be easier to use than a multi-effects unit with an on screen display. You simply toggle on or off which effects you want to use with the press of a finger. Press and hold to drag them around in any order you want. Save them for later retrieval if you like. Using phone based technology allows Mooer to offer the S1 at a better price point than units that have an on screen color display. One drawback, it takes a minute or two to get connected. The app will search for the device each time you turn it on. I'm really impressed with the fidelity of the effects. Like any unit of this type, some of the presets really nail the sound, other presets, not so much. The list of amps and cabinets is extensive. One of the best I've seen. Compression, overdrive, and modulation all have parameters that can be tweaked to your liking. One thing worth mentioning, turn the master volume down below the midpoint on the thumb wheel until you become familiar with it or you may wake up the neighborhood. Make sure your amp is adjusted reasonably low as well to prevent any possible damage. There's a good possibility that this is the direction many effects units are going and Mooer may very well be one of the forerunners in this type of technology. I'm liking the S1 more every time I power it up. One thing I've yet to mention is the portability. Mooer is marketing this toward the traveling musician and it checks all the boxes. It easily slides into a pouch on a gig bag. Pack a set of earphones or headphones with it you've got everything you need for rocking out on the road. The P1 gets rave reviews and I feel that once the S1 gains traction, it will as well. In the meantime, be cautious with those firmware updates.

Exceptional!!!!
I got rid of my micro drummer and line 6 pod go because this thing replaced both. I can control the tempo of the drummer to make my own backing tracks. It is also a great tuner and obviously, a great effects pedal. I don't miss the line 6 pod go. This is awesome. I recommend it to any home guitarist. I play at gome, not in a band live.

Almost perfect
From the price point of course it is amazing. It connects easily. Looper and drum machines works as they should. Battery lasts 4 hours. Super light weight. I think it got more variety to make the guitar sound more like heavy rock, and metal than smoother sounds. The delay is just a single time division and it doesn't take advantage of the "stereo" feature of the pedal. Also the reverbs aren't that deep enough for a super ambient sound. Hopefully we will have firmware updates in the future to compensate that. Still I'm playing with it more that my standard pedalboard just for the easier way to handle.
