An amazing lock
I owned a finger print lock, it worked for me but my wife has the type of prints that rarely work on anything including the lock and her cell phone. I opted to try out a palm reader lock and it works great, it's amazing technology.Installing it was like installing most any other lock. I'm quite geeky, however the initial setup was a a tad challenging. I find that it is easiest to modify settings and to add users by using the phone app. This is such cool technology and it's so easy to use, it doesn't matter if your hand is wet or dirty, it still recognized the palm. The bottom line, I don't think you can go wrong with this system.

Super convenient for high trafficc doors.
Installed this on the front door of our home. It has been great because I was able to add my kids and wife profiles to the lock. They can get into the house now without a key. No more lost keys. The recognition function works really well. It was very easy to install and is easy to use. The deadbolt is strong and works well. Highly recommend for a house with kids and lots of in/out traffic.

Great hardware but...(updated)
The app is terrible and there is no TCL support for the lock. You have to search to find a contact and then it's only by phone. The lock itself is great. Solid build, easy to install in the door and the reaction time is pretty fast.HOWEVER the uses the Tuya Smart Home app and for the lock, it's terrible. I mean terrible. It's not clear what half the things actually mean until you start to play with it and then you figure it out.The only way to add a palm id is a person has to have a Smart Home account or has to download the app and create one - you can't just create a user in the app and have them scan their palm! So for me, it's too much trouble to have my older members go through that. Yes you can add multiple palms to your account but then there is no way to monitor or control each palm. You can create access codes and name them BUT once you create a accesss code, there is no way to retrieve it later! So if your friend forgets the code, you have to delete their old name, add a new name and code. Silly and just counterintuitive. Also the app has very VERY few options. Just seems like a waste of technology.I'd look for other options with a good app that let's you really use the lock to it's potentialUPDATE: TCL support is great and super reaponsive! There are workarounds to the app issues.1. To add someone's palm: go to Member Management. Click on the + sign and enter the user's name only! Just the name for the person whose palm it is. Then go through the process of adding a new palm to the lock. Then go back into the app and you'll see a notification that there are unassigned palms. You click on the message and then you can assign it to the user you just created.2. You can't retrieve temporary passwords that you set up, BUT if you include the password in the user name then you have access to it, i.e. Brad45239I still hope TCL sees an opportunity to create an app that will truly use the lock to its full potential.

Haven't had to recharge the battery yet. Palm reader works better than my old fingerprint scanner.
When technology is sufficiently advanced, it's indistinguishable from magic. That's kinda how it felt when I first used the palm reader to unlock the deadbolt. I just put my hand up and it unlocks. I guess I was just frustrated with the old fingerprint scanner deadbolt. I often had to scan my fingerprint over and over, sometime necessitating the code to be entered, which defeated the purpose of a scanner. So I'm happy with the palm scammer tech, which hasn't failed yet. Also haven't had to charge it yet either.

No More Lost Keys – Love This Lock!
I used to lose my keys a lot, and my wife got very frustrated. So, I decided to buy a keyless door lock.I found the TCL Smart Lock. It was easy to install and works very well. It has a palm vein scanner that is fast and cool.My wife was happy when we got it, and it helped a lot at home—no more losing keys! The lock has a long battery life, locks automatically, and I can control it from my phone or with Alexa. It is also waterproof and bit heavy which speaks about its build quality. Design looks rich.If you want a smart lock, I recommend this one. You will like it!

Meh
The hardware is ok, but "palm vein recognition" tech is total garbage. Only wors one time out of twenty for me, especially in winter, when your hands are cold - then it doesn't work at all

Palm vein reader works on all hands
I had a fingerprint reader lock but both my son and wife have very faint fingerprints so can't reliably get the lock to work. It also won't read my print when my hands are wet. In my wife's case, her fingerprint is so bad that even top end readers on Apple and Samsung devices can't read it. This lock solves the problem, and it works reliably even with my 8 y.o. son's little palm. So yes, the palm reader works, and works surprisingly well. The rest of the lock is pretty standard smart lock stuff, with the built in Wi-Fi a nice touch. I saw several reviewers complain about the app, but I already use the Tuyab smart app for smart switches in my home, so I liked not having to install yet another app. I find the pairing and set up process pretty straightforward and simple. Notifications to my phone work without problems, but I wished the notification would say which palm was used to open the lock.Overall, if you want a touchless smart lock, and don't need additional features like cameras, this work really well at a very good price.

Perfect
The TCL D1 Pro Smart Lock has completely changed my approach to home security. The palm vein scanner is fast, accurate, and works even when your hands are wet, way more reliable than fingerprint locks. The built-in Wi-Fi and app integration made setup smooth, and I love getting notifications right on my phone. It’s sleek, weatherproof, and the rechargeable battery is a big plus. If you want a touchless, secure, and easy-to-use smart lock, this is a great choice.
