Caldwell Claymore Pull-pup with Handheld Design, Dual Grip Safeties, and Adjustable Spring Tension for Clay Shooting, Shooting Sports, Hunting

I was looking for something better than the manual hand throwers and didn't want to haul a heavy battery and electronic thrower every time I wanted to shot clay targets let alone the price of those. I looked at other anchor ground throwers and saw people complaining about them pulling the stakes out and having to try and anchor them over and over, I looked the the hitch mounts but didn't want something the bulky and don't want to be limited to the back of my truck. So when I saw a YouTube video testing this I wanted to try it. I am extremely impressed. I tried it out on New Years day and after dialing in the power (I turened it up at the start thinking I needed more power for the larger clay targets, and it kept shattering them as it launched them) it did amazing at throwing the clay targets. You do have to be careful pulling it back to make sure you get it locked before you let go so you don't break your fingers. It was a little hard for my younger teenage son to pull back. However, with all that I would highly recommend to anyone wanting an affordable option that is easily stored and packed with you to go have some fun.

I was very disappointed by this.#1 the trap arm is very annoying to pull back. One time is fine. However, 50 times or more is a whole other thing. Some people won't even able to do it or will tire of it extremely quickly.#2 On top of being difficult to pull back it can also be dangerous to your fingers as you pull back with the risk of the arm slipping and hitting you.#3 i felt the need to use gloves to protect the skin of my fingers from the abrasive no slip material on arm.#4 When the clay pigeon is placed exactly where they say to and fastened with the clip the clay bird shattered to pieces everytime regardless of tension. I had to move the clay further up the arm away from the clip to prevent breakage, but this also made it possible for the clay to fall out limiting angles and accuracy.I returned mine and don't recommend.

Used this for the first time last week and it appeared very temperamental and we spent a significant amount of time trying to get it to work.When it was working it threw the clay pigeons in a very nice pattern that was great for shooting.

I love this chucker. It simple, easy to use, and a great upgrade from a hand hucker.

Here are my thoughts on the Caldwell Claymore Pull-pup clay thrower.This is an interesting design, being a "bull pup" style. It's sort of neat.The build quality seems good. Caldwell has a good reputation in sporting good items. So that helps.It's a single bird-at-a-time shooter. Very simple to use - except that it can be sort of tough to pull back and cock. Maybe that will loosen up after some time? Also, there's a "click" sound when locked in. Wait for that... I let it go once accidentally and am glad my hand wasn't in the way.To fire just have one hand on the safety trigger (front) and the other on the release trigger (back) and watch clay fly.It's adjustable as far as spring tension and sending ability go. I didn't notice a ton of difference between the settings. But it'll throw clay birds pretty nicely. Plus with it being in this sort of style, you can aim and change things up at a rate not achievable with other launchers.It's fun and functions well. However, I feel it's sort of a novelty item. Since it's a a little work to pull and setup for a single shot, I feel the use is limited. It's not for a long shooting experience, in my opinion. More like a few birds for fun and challenges to keep things interesting.But seems like an nice solid platform and safety built in via the front trigger needs to be pushed in before it will fire.Fair value for the money. But best if you're just looking to change things up a bit at the range/trap house.

Great concept. However it is very difficult to pull back the launching arm and lock it into place. No matter what we did or tried it took all our strength to pull it back and we were only able to get it locked in one time.

Bought this to replace older tripod type throwers. Way more fun! Shoots as far or farther than conventional thrower. Can shoot all different variations. The thrower has as much fun as the shooter. Will be buying another.

I should have listened to the bad reviews...Decided to purchase this for a family outing to the range, tested it the night before and not only was it pretty difficult to cock back (slipped out of my hand once and almost took the skin off of my finger, and there's NO WAY my wife would be able to do it without injuring herself), but instead of launching clays it explodes them, sending hundreds of pieces flying in all directions like shrapnel. And this was on the lowest tension setting.Don't waste your time with this product. As cool as it could be, it's useless in its current state.
