Gemini PDA 4G+WiFi

Superb device! I’ve been waiting for this since moving away from my Psion 5MX. This unit is beautifully designed and made and the keyboard is amazing! Sadly it runs on Android, but Linux is also available. The touch screen is amazing and down quality impressive. This is one of my best purchases this year.Note: please look after it, preferably in a case and don’t let kids play with it. It is a sophisticated bit of kit and not a toy.

Beautifully designed, excellent keyboard, good charging and battery life but it’s slow and doesn’t replace my Psion, iPaq, iPad, iPhone or PC. Not sure how I’m going to use it.

Although I stopped using the Revos about 10 years ago and disposed of them about 5 years ago, I've always had a soft spot for them as I loved the shape, speed and quality of the software, so when I heard that Planet were launching an updated Series 5 I was very interested and bought one a number of months ago.The Planet Gemini is very well made and well presented. Despite the metal case, it seems to weigh a little less than a Series 5, which is plastic and and quite a bit bulkier. The Gemini is closer in size to a Revo (though heavier, due to the metal body). In addition, the screen is 20 years better. For a start, it's full colour, when the Psions were only ever grayscale. The sliding hinge is gone, replaced with an alternative solution to tilt the keyboard and screen to similar angles. Of course the Gemini screen is much brighter and has better definition. Curiously, the screen sizes are almost identical.Again of course, the Gemini has much more storage (I bought external storage to take it up to over 400GB), though the Series 5 can also take external storage cards and these now run to about 10GB. The built in storage on the Gemini is about 64GB and on the Series 5 8MB (that's right: MB).So from a hardware point of view, the Gemini wins hands down. It's smaller, lighter, (presumably) stronger and has a better screen.So why do I think the Series 5 is better? In a word, software.The EPOC operating system was always the strongest part of Psion's repertoire (and the hardware was still better than anything else at the time and pretty amazing now). I bought a user manual and opened it once, after about 6 months. The software was so good, a manual was simply redundant.Keep in mind that Psion didn't make phones; they made pocket computers. The Series 5 and Revo had 14 icons surrounding the screen to enable instant (and I do mean instant) switching between what we now call apps. And this is where the Gemini falls down. It runs Android with an option to run Linux. It doesn't have an EPOC emulator. And it needs one.Get me an EPOC emulator and I'll switch from the Series 5 (which I've just bought, I was so frustrated with the Gemini word processing) in an instant.

The Gemini pda is probably the most amazing phone I have ever had the pleasure in using. I have had many phones - Iphone - Samsung- etc, but the Gemini comes out top, the solid manufacturing of this delightful product is spot on,( I will not go into the specs of the Gemini has you can easily find all the specs online)This is more of a experience review but I have added specs below.from the moment you open the box and remove the Gemini you know you have something special in your hands, something that is miles from anything else on the market at the moment.After only one day with this amazing product I have now decided to make this my everyday phone/pda/laptop/tablet. It truly is all of that and more.The design of the Gemini is extremely well done.The speed of the software is in my opinion better than my iPhone and SamsungThe Gemini is a real workhorse, that speeds through word and other apps when using the remarkable keyboard. Everything the Gemini does is done extremely wellI was looking for something completely different from the everyday phones that are now on the market. And the Gemini is it .I’m so impressed with this product im thinking of purchasing another unit for my wife.The company planet computers is a fantastic company to deal with with a great customer service. Thank you planet for a remarkable product. You have achieved something outstanding.I’m very happy with the Gemini . I did a lot of homework on this product and read a lot of online reviews. YouTube etc. And was slightly nervous about ordering a Gemini. But I’m so happy I did. I will not be returning to my iPhone - Samsung.The Gemini is my now go to every day phone, and works great.The battery is extremely good. And is lasting well into 2 and a half days on a full charge.I have been asked many times when at coffee shops etc what I was using, when you explain to people what the Gemini is and what it is capable of doing people are astonished.If your looking for a all round workhorse to use everyday. With an excellent build quality then take a look at the Gemini pda. In my opinion this product really is an all in one office.The model i purchased is the 4G + WiFi model.I also purchased a leather case and front back camera. super device , the battery is amazeing i get two and a half days, this is like mini computer, it has load of stuff and apps , loads of storage , super for working form homeor go the goit takes a double sim and a memory sd card for extrathe calls and texting wowi did loads of research before buying this and i am not disapointedits the best piece of kit i have ever brought
