USB 4.0 Type-C 10G Ethernet Adapter, for High-Speed Network Connections, RJ45 Port Supports 10Gb/s, 5Gb/s, 2.5Gb/s, 1Gb/s and 100Mb/s Base-T

Have not used it for extended periods of time, but seems to work correctly when combined with a USB4 or Thunderbolt4 port. It does get HOT, so don't put anything on top of it. Windows 11 driver worked just fine out of the box, but I did tweak some settings. I do this on all my Ethernet adapters. If your USB4 port is not also Thunderbolt, this device will not show up as a network adapter. It uses the Aquantia chip. It will show up as a USB device with no function.

Keeps disconnecting, requires a computer restart or to be unplugged and reconnected. Functioned very well at first, for a few days, but now it disconnects when the computer is idle for few hours. I'm using it the with a Mac M4 and It does get up too speed but it won't stay connected. Can't recommend this product. I'm going to replace it with the OWC. Note; I haven't tried it with a windows PC yet. The drivers may work better on windows, but typically a Mac is much less temperamental, most of the time with Mac it's just plug and play.

Does what it says on the tin and successfully establishes a 10 Gb/s link between my AMD Ryzen Framework 13 laptop and my 10GbE network switch. Benchmarks with iperf3 show a relatively consistent ~9.4-9.6 Gb/s transfer speed with 4+ parallel connections, but I find that it dips closer to ~9.2-9.4 Gb/s when stress-testing only a single connection. Overall, a pretty solid measurement. This unit also feels like a solid chunk of metal in your hands, which is nice from a durability standpoint. Some caveats: The heatsink does get pretty warm to the touch during particularly heavy use, as others have noted, but not enough to burn you. I also wish the USB-C and Ethernet ports weren't on the same side of the unit; this design choice makes the cabling look pretty messy and tangled on my work desk. Finally, this device is *almost* plug-and-play on Linux, but not quite. I needed to (a) choose the exact USB-C port on my machine that would show up as a Thunderbolt NIC (only the top-left port worked with my Ryzen CPU; verified by checking the "boltctl" command), and (b) install a newer version of the "atlantic" Linux driver module via DKMS (the "atlantic" driver provided with Linux 7.1.3 didn't recognize the Marvell AQC113 out of the box). But after installing the driver and making sure to use the correct USB-C port, it works great! I purchased this for $105.79 pre-tax back in 2025, and it was kinda expensive for what I got back then. But at its current lower price point these days ($75.89 right now), I'd say it's much more reasonable.

I'm using this to connect an M3 MacBook Pro to a 10Gbit network (Mikrotik CRS309-1G-8S+ switch with ipolex sfp+ modules). The adapter itself works great, but the cable it came with limits it to a 20Gbit connection to the host, which is barely adequate for 10Gbit throughput, given the driver overhead. Replacing the cable with a higher quality one that's rated for 40 or 80Gbit removes the bottleneck and allows this device to run at full 10Gbit bandwidth (iperf3 reports a solid 9.41Gbps, which is the practical max for a 10Gbit network). I'd knock a star off for the dodgy cable, but frankly it's such an easy problem to fix that I'm not even mad. :)

Good luck finding the driver. While the product worked, it was nice. Exceptionally hot to the touch; no active cooling. Perfect to cook some eggs on. Well, after about 6 months, the device would top working. Unplugging and letting it cool off for an hour would seem to get it working again. Not practical. I'd give it a zero star review if I could. Despite it no longer working for network communications, I can still use it to keep my coffee warm by balancing my mug on top of it, and that has to be worth one star...

Running iperf3 tests under windows, this adapter tops out at around 6.5gig. On Linux, it gets proper 10gig. For the price it's very well built, it stays nice and cool, and I've found it reasonably reliable -- zero disconnects after a day of usage. Unfortunately, on Windows it's only a bit faster than the $40 WisdPi 5gig USB adapter, at 3x the price -- seemingly due to driver issues with the underlying AQC113 chip. It's hard to recommend this for Windows users when an extra $60 can get you full 10gig on Windows, and $100 less can get you 5gig. If you use Linux or macOS, on the other hand, this is a great buy.

Using a Mac Mini M2 Pro. @Price of $129.99, this is the cheapest external 10G adapter on the market...! Already have a Sonnet and an OWC. Figured I'd give this one a chance, even though it seems brand new to market, and was pleasantly surprised when I ran true test file transfer speeds write and read right at the 10G target speed to our NAS. Who ever knows with longevity with any of these, but as of right now, can definitely recommend to save the $70-$170 compared to others.

Despite claims of 10Gb/s support, most users will be lucky to hit basic gigabit speeds if the device is even recognized. Compatibility issues abound, and the build quality feels like a race to the bottom: flimsy casing, loose ports, and a suspicious warmth during use that doesn’t inspire long-term confidence. Hard pass!

was working great for the first 4 months but now it’s having connectivity issues due to what i would assume is overheating since it’s extremely hot to the touch.

This thing works as inteded, but when it gets hot it sometimes disconnects/disables the unit. I opened mine up and placed thermal pads on the compononents and that seems to have fixed the problem.
