The Geyser System is not pressurized. It uses a pump that works like your heart to deliver consistent flow for the duration of your shower. The lid is not required to run the pump, however, it is recommended. Users only need to secure the lid when running heat mode. Some users have experienced issues with the lid becoming vacuum sealed due to the water displacement. Geyser Systems has implemented a one-way umbrella valve which alleviates the vacuum issue. Q: How many watts is the pump?

The pump operates 30-37.2 watts. The pump draws 2.5-3.1 amps on 12v power.

Q: Can a regular shower head or a sink faucet be used in place of sponge

At the this time, there are no other accessories to connect other than the sponge. The system is designed to use minimal water while providing maximum wash time. A shower head or faucet would significantly decrease the wash time provided by the shower. It is understandable that one might question the ability of this shower to clean efficiently using just a sponge. However, the clever design of the system allows for significant cleaning ability using minimal water while being contained in a very small portable unit. The shower works more like a powered sponge bath. That is how it is able to conserve water while providing enough water to clean yourself, your dog, dishes, or gear with only 0.8L.
