Strong Spade
My wife and I went paddle in camping; It was about an hour to paddle to the island we were camping at. We got a late start so we brought limited supplies in our kayak. It took a bit longer since there was quite a bit of motorized boat traffic going around creating large wakes. When we approached the island, it was difficult to tell where the site was; we saw a sign and went for that. The sign may have been a site back in the past but wasn't when we got there. Since it was getting dark, we decided to make camp. I used this shovel to clear the area.I was originally looking at those folding shovels with about 1000 extra attachments. On paper those other shovels would have been a far better choice; however, I know how rough I am on tools and I am very glad I chose a regular spade instead even if it means I'll have to bring extra tools. It's very strong and a good price. I eventually did use it do dig a few holes and it works fine.Update: This little shovel was used during this winter storm Uri. Helped me shovel the snow and break up and move the ice below my vehicle to be able to get going. I dug out a few people and let a few borrow it. Lifesaver for sure! Great size; I had it tucked behind my seats of a 2005 Silverado single cab which already had a lot behind the seats. Everyone I used it with loved it and wanted to get one for emergencies. Funny I originally purchased this to bury waste and other minor things when camping but have yet to use it for that - easy camping usually has restrooms. 10/10 would highly recommend it.

Terrific Shovel for kids/narrow spaces. Measurement of Blade NOT what most customers might expect (Read Review for more info)
I'm giving this product 5 stars due to the outstanding customer service I received when I received he shovel. In addition, it IS a very well made tool and if you're looking for a SMALL shovel, I'd highly recommend this one. It would also serve as a terrific shovel if your daughter or son wanted to 'work' outside with you or start their own little garden - Hint: getting them involved in gardening early in life can lead to a more enriched life. This all said, if you're looking for a sturdy short shafted shovel with a wide blade, you might find the blade a bit under-sized.Having worked in retail and merchandising, I appreciate the importance of providing accurate product descriptions in print and on-line posts. The information provided in the blade measurement description of the Bond LH015 Mini D HANDLE HOVEL includes the convex/concave portion of the blade versus a measurement straight across the blade. This provides the impression of a wider blade.Generally, customers will measure across the blade and not include the additional inches the curved portion would provide. As a result, when the shovel arrives, they're disappointed to find a smaller bladed shovel than anticipated. Since this particular shovel is listed as being the widest of the shovels offered on the site at this time, adds to the customer frustration.Measurement differences aside, this is a terrific LITTLE shovel for narrow spaces or kids.Additionally, the follow up experience I had with Amazon Customer Service was - as it always is - Best In Class.

Wonderful for raised garden beds
I bought this nifty little shovel back in 2017 when it cost only $12. Six years later it is as good as when purchased. Complaints against it seem frivolous. It is exactly as described, a sturdy, short shovel. It's length is not a deficit. It's great for gardening in raised beds and digging miniature ponds.Regarding complaints about rust, I can attest that my shovel is cleaned after each use and hung up to dry. It has not rusted. If you need a small, strong shovel (and one easily transportable), this is the shovel for you.One last thought. Unless a product is inferior, why criticize the origin of it? China exports junky products, but when they turn out a good product, why not applaud? This is an honest review.

Tough little shovel
I've been using this shovel around the house and camping for a number of years now. A solid tool that fits in small spaces and is the right size for so many jobs.

Not At All Ergonomic
So I am a short person, 5'0". I thought that having a shovel that was shorter would be a benefit. Not! When I use this shovel, it does not correctly align my body. This shovel is cute and study. It seems to be more of a novelty. It does work ok for small projects but would not be good for any large project.

Small shovel yet it's becoming the one we go to for quick tasks! EXCELLENT around fire pits & for camping!
This small, lightweight and handy little guy has suddenly become the most-used shovel we own! It is easy to throw in the car with the rest of our camping gear and is AWESOME for quickly and easily heaping coals on our Dutch oven, for digging around in the fire pit as needed and arranging the remaining coals to cook over. My son often swipes it and hauls it to the beach and the creek sandbar to dig in the sand to his heart's content. It seems to be showing up at more and more boy scout activities and it's so easy to grab from the garage when you need to scoop up some wandering mulch to put back in place. It's been so useful yet so popular that I'm worried it will "wander off" from our garage since the neighborhood boys enjoy playing with it or using it to dig worms for fishing in the local pond. I just ordered us a second one today because I cannot stand the thought of being without it on a camp out. Also getting one as a gift for my father-in-law who just built himself a beautiful new camp-style fire ring complete with hand-hewed log benches! It's much faster and more accurate at arranging coals than a fire poke. It stows in the back of your vehicle so easily and I forget how I managed before I owned it. Love this shovel! Consider it for your own adventures and as a gift for anyone who camps!
