Teaching Numbers
My kids (5, 5, 3) and I have been using M&Ms to teach math with my dad for about three years now. My littlest has struggled to use his fingers to count. I have been working with this set to help him do addition and subtraction. He seems to really be enjoying using someone else's "fingers" to learn the math. After a couple uses, he has started to get the hang of things.Even his older brothers, who are in kinder, want to participate in the family learning with this toy. We have started utilizing it in combination with some flash cards they got for Christmas as a fun afternoon activity during the cooler weather. The kids have even started asking for it.

woah! much nicer than i expected
this is great! i just started teaching math lessons about how we use different ways to show a number, and "fingers" is one of the ways we focus on. so this tool is PERFECT for an additional tool for my students to use to see what "fingers" can look like to represent numbers.i have also had a couple of my higher students use them to figure out the little math problems provided!

Homeschool Helper!
I bought this to help with home school addition activities for my nephew who was born with a hand abnormality. It allows us to teach him the basics of addition and subtraction using fingers, like we all did in school, with a visual aid since he does not have the benefit of counting on his fingers as we do. I will say for a 5 or 6 year old to just play with the hands could be made of more durable material however, as a homescool aid used sitting at the table it should be fine.
